Atvos, one of the largest bioenergy companies in Brazil, faced the challenge of migrating the Citrix environment, previously shared with the former parent company, to its own structure. The objective was not only to assure employees access to systems, such as desktop and application virtualization, but also to simplify the company's environment, which was now serviced by a smaller team. The project was carried out by Brasoftware, one of the main technology providers in the country and a Citrix Platinum partner.

\u201cThe project was considered critical because Citrix is the way to access our entire productive application environment; in other words, it is what allows the company to invoice, produce and deliver the production of the 8 plants that we have throughout the country. Another concern was with some of our teams, who with the pandemic started to work from home, with access to their tools via VPN\u201d, says Juliano Moschen, manager of IT Infrastructure and Security at Atvos.

To ensure the success of the migration of more than 200 virtualized applications and minimize any impact on the company's results, Brasoftware dedicated 4 months to planning the project, which needed to take place in the Atvos off-season. \u201cThat was one of the biggest challenges. We worked with the client together with the business area, as it was necessary to reschedule everything that was planned for this period. We built the Citrix environment from scratch, we needed to assess the risks present in each scenario and replan activities at various times\u201d, says Vitor Vogel, services executive at Brasoftware.

For Atvos, it is essential that employees and partners work productively and safely. That's why Citrix solutions, which the company has been using since 2010, are essential. \u201cEvery day we receive a large number of trucks at our plants. If we delay a bill release or a truck is unable to carry out the mandatory weighing, for example, it is a loss of revenue.
