\n\tWith a 100% environment in the cloud, the city of Rio do Sul, located in Alto Vale do Itaja\u00ed (SC), is one of the examples that can be cited when it comes to the use of Cloud Computing in public management. The municipal administration adopted Consulte.net, an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) type system created by IPM Sistemas for process integration in a single base. It also associated the resources offered by Google through the G Suite, whose operation is also based on the cloud, to the system. The North American giant's tools were integrated by Qi Network, one of the five Google Premier Partners in Brazil. <\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\tApplications such as Gmail, Hangouts, Google Drive, Google Calendar and others can be customized according to the customer's needs, simplifying internal processes and making data available in a centralized and unique way, with controlled access visible only to authorized persons. Another gain with the adoption of G Suite is the reduction in paper printing, favoring the environment and reducing further costs.<\/div>\n

\n\tThe use of digital tools also streamlines the service offered to citizens, in addition to optimizing the work performed by public servants. The adoption of Cloud Computing in public management is a positive factor when considering the following statistic: performing services in a digital environment can reduce public coffers costs by up to 97% compared to processes carried out in person, according to data presented in X Consad Public Management Congress.<\/div>\n

\n\tMeasure is also effective for crisis management in cases of natural disasters<\/div>\n

\n\tDuring the flood caused by the Itaja\u00ed-A\u00e7u River in June 2017, Rio do Sul was one of the hardest hit cities: about eighteen thousand people were affected \u2013 one thousand of them were displaced. Different from other similar occasions in the past, when the city hall also suffered damage and was without communication, the use of technology made it possible to speed up actions for the benefit of the population and reduce damage, above all, minimizing the risk of loss of information and interruption of services.<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\tOne of the resources, resulting from the integration of both technologies by the municipal administration, is the new Citizen Portal, which brings together more than 4,300 registered users. Unlike desktop-based solutions, the system is available 24 hours a day to the public, and keeps data stored in data centers with enhanced security and continuous accessibility. The measure facilitates the crossing of information and increases the transparency of the administration.<\/div>\n

\n\tFor the CIO and co-founder of Qi Network Henrique Augusto Ara\u00fajo, the migration of public infrastructure to the cloud can be considered a way to raise awareness of public spending. \u201cIn addition to definitively solving a series of problems, cloud computing also eliminates high recurring expenses in licenses and hardware\u201d he emphasizes. Aldo Mees, CEO of IPM Sistemas, also emphasizes the reduction of costs for the municipal executive with the use of technology. "Cloud computing is also more economical, because it takes the cost of acquiring and maintaining equipment and hiring specialized teams, which are the responsibility of the service provider", he explains.<\/div>\n

\n\tAccording to Aldo Mees, cloud computing allows taking public management to another level. He explains that city halls like Rio do Sul offer solutions that bring citizens closer to public bodies, promoting their interaction with the city administration wherever they are, through smartphones and tablets, in real time. \u201cIn addition to socializing the use of the management system in city halls, it is the most modern in processing, storing and making information available. It promotes a significant increase in productivity and the quality of the service provided\u201d, emphasizes Aldo.<\/div>\n
