The ABDI Connectivity and Industry Survey, carried out with 401 medium and large Brazilian companies, revealed that innovative technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, are not priorities in the strategic agenda of the country's industrial sector, even in a scenario where digitization gains more and more relevance in the economy.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe industry uses ICTs, above all, as a management strategy and, possibly, as a cost reduction. There is still no mentality for the use of ICTs to generate innovative business\u201d, assesses the president of ABDI. According to Calvet, the adoption of technologies opens up a wide range of business opportunities for the industry. \u201cWe have several fronts to go towards encouraging the adoption of technologies. It is necessary to make companies aware of this\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Below are the main highlights of the survey:<\/p>\n
\u2022 The 3 most important IT strategies for the future of the business, in the respondents' view, are production management software, cybersecurity and productivity tools (with BI tools at the same level, but numerically in fourth place in order of importance) . Big data, Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing solutions do not appear among the priorities.<\/p>\n
\u2022 94% of Brazilian companies have their own area and\/or outsource IT activities.<\/p>\n
\u2022 There is a mismatch between the importance given to new technologies and the level of use of technologies by companies.<\/p>\n
\u2022 73% of companies do not have Internet of Things projects. Within this audience, most (44%) say they do not see the need for the use of technology for business.<\/p>\n
\u2022 On the other hand, almost all companies that adopted an IoT project say they are satisfied with the results: 40% above expectations and 50% within expectations.<\/p>\n
\u2022 70% of participants consider the company's budget for Information Technology projects to be very (42%) or somewhat adequate (28%).<\/p>\n
\u2022 6 out of 10 companies plan to expand their IT budget over the next two years. Those planning an increase forecast up to 35% of increase in IT budgets.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Only 26% of companies plan to reduce. On average, this reduction should be 50%.<\/p>\n
\u2022 However, 40% of participants declared that they have no defined budget for Information Technology projects; and 49% responded that the companies where they operate have annually up to R$ 1 million to implement IT projects.<\/p>\n
\u2022 58% of respondents consider that the ecosystem of information technology companies in Brazil is prepared to offer specific IT services for the reality of industries in the country.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Although the majority (63%) say that their company is more advanced (7%) or following the pace (56%) of the Brazilian industry in general, 2\/3 of respondents consider that the Brazilian industry is behind in relation to the world industry.<\/p>\n
\u2022 The most common IT tools, present in at least 70% of companies, are for virtual meetings, cloud, cybersecurity, production management software and new tools for remote work.<\/p>\n
\u2022 The least present are big data solutions (19%), 3D printers (11%) and AI (10%).<\/p>\n
\u2022 The biggest obstacle to implementing IT and connectivity projects is the high cost (already faced by 78% of companies). In second place comes the lack of skilled labor (69%).<\/p>\n
\u2022 57% of companies say they have employees poorly prepared to handle the industry's connectivity needs.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Carried out by FSB Pesquisa, throughout Brazil, the survey reveals the perception of managers or technical heads of technology areas in a universe of 401 large and medium industrial companies in a proportional and representative sample of companies, according to RAIS data 2020. The study's margin of error is 4pp, with a confidence interval of 95%.<\/p>\n
