The Legal Framework of Startups, sanctioned in 2021, aimed to modernize the Brazilian business environment, however, changes during the presidential debates and vetoes did not fully meet the expectations of entrepreneurs and investors, as they changed relevant points in this legislation.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, the pandemic and the need for innovation boosted contributions and, according to data from the Inside Venture Capital Report, a report produced by Distrito Dataminer, Brazilian startups raised US$ 3.2 billion in investment by the end of May 2021 \u2013 an amount that represents 90% of the total invested only in 2020, but still far from the movement in countries that are the cradles of startups such as the United States and Israel, and the emerging markets of China and India.<\/p>\n<p>Aware of this dynamic situation, ABES will create the\u00a0<strong>Startups Committee<\/strong>\u00a0to discuss the needs, policies and demands for the innovation ecosystem driven by startups in Brazil to gain more traction. The committee will be coordinated by\u00a0<strong>Cassio Spina<\/strong>, founder of Anjos do Brasil, advisor on mergers and acquisitions (M&amp;A) and Corporate Venture\/Inova\u00e7\u00e3o, and partner at Altivia Ventures (recently incorporated into ACE). All member companies can participate in the committee, which is also a space for networking and partnerships. The first meeting of the Startups Committee will take place on 09\/09, at 9:30 am, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/us02web.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tZIpfuqtrTsvGdR7ivRbzqHF5fn-r1SU0GxD\">Registration is now open<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cABES&#039;s Startup Committee aims to foster the development of software startups, through actions to disseminate knowledge, connect and propose public policies. The Brazilian startup ecosystem has grown a lot in recent years, but when compared to other more developed countries and even emerging ones, such as China and India, we still have a lot to expand. For this, it is essential to develop a collaborative work in favor of these innovative emerging companies\u201d, highlights Cassio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">In its work to encourage startups and innovation, the entity also highlights the\u00a0<strong>ABES STARTUP INTERNSHIP PROGRAM<\/strong>, whose objective is to help emerging companies, which use technology intensively and wish to operate or expand their activities, to overcome the complexities present in the market, making available to program participants the association&#039;s 35 years of experience in the legal, regulatory and tax areas and marketing. The program lasts for six months and makes all these services available at no cost to startups. Rodolfo F\u00fccher, president of ABES, explains that \u201cstarting companies need support and encouragement.
