Support is part of the digital acceleration program for the country, Cisco Brasil Digital e Inclusivo (BDI)<\/em><\/p>\n

Cisco do Brasil announced a partnership with the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) to support the BNDES Connected Education Initiative, which aims to promote technology incorporation projects as a pedagogical tool in public elementary schools, testing models and creating learning cases in different Brazilian realities. The support is part of the Cisco Brasil Digital e Inclusivo (BDI) program, launched in May 2020 to promote and accelerate the digitization of critical sectors for the country, such as education and health.<\/p>\n

The projects promoted within the scope of the BNDES Connected Education Initiative are based on the premise that the use of digital tools in public schools effectively requires first the definition of a strategic vision for incorporating technology in pedagogical practices. Based on this vision, the projects provide for actions and investments for the implementation of digital educational resources, digital infrastructure and the training of teachers and teams in teaching practices mediated by technology. The joint project includes the development and implementation of a model of connected and intelligent school in partnership with some education departments in Brazil, which are part of the initiative led by BNDES.<\/p>\n

For more than 25 years in Brazil, Cisco has been working to help build an inclusive future for all and sees education as the fundamental pillar for this transformation of the country and society. The partnership with the BNDES and the support for the Connected Education Initiative are aligned with this mission by contributing to the reflection and validation of a vision for the future of public education in the country, in the quality of teaching and learning, and the role of technology in this transformation. and in the construction of a more egalitarian Brazil with opportunities for all.<\/p>\n

In addition to Cisco, the BNDES Connected Education Initiative partners with the Ministry of Education (MEC), Lemann Foundation, Ita\u00fa Social, the Center for Innovation for Brazilian Education (CIEB), among others, which form an ecosystem of organizations with fundamental roles and strategic in the design, implementation and monitoring of the proposed projects.<\/p>\n

Cisco's main contribution to the program is to participate in the design, implementation and validation of the connectivity and security infrastructure necessary to enable the transformation of schools and educational pedagogical practices in the new post-pandemic era, considering online and hybrid teaching and learning models. learning, which will be fundamental in the digitization of the education sector in Brazil.<\/p>\n

In addition to the digital infrastructure, Cisco will also participate and support the training of teachers and students to better use the new tools and digital educational resources, understanding that the success of the project depends primarily on their involvement to embrace these new tools and realize the impact these technologies throughout the teaching and learning process.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore than ever, technology has been a great ally for connecting students and teachers, supporting new practices and methodologies active in education. The partnership with the BNDES Connected Education Initiative is extremely important to rethink and validate, in a holistic and structured way, the transformations we want for education in the country, thus driving a trajectory of social and economic transformation in Brazil \u201d, says Rodrigo Uchoa, director Digital Transformation Solutions. \u201cIn Brazil, we have 48.8 million students in basic education. Of these, more than 81% of students are enrolled in the public school system. Our goal is to work so that an increasing number of these students have access to innovative and digital solutions and technologies, a means for us to reach a better and more inclusive education \u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this initiative, we seek to support projects that, in addition to transforming the reality of education in the participating states and municipalities, generate knowledge of the ways in which technology is adopted in public networks. The Initiative is, therefore, a broad action and the support of partners is essential to enhance the effectiveness of investments and actions \u201d, says Conrado Leiras Matos, head of the BNDES Department of Education and Social Investments.<\/p>\n
