This is what reveals a survey commissioned by Trend Micro from Sapio Research, and carried out with more than 2,500 IT decision makers from various sectors, including health, in 28 countries. Among the companies interviewed, 88% accelerated the adoption of cloud technology because of the pandemic. Remote work, cost reduction and greater IT agility were the three main reasons for changing cloud-based infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Rapid changes to the cloud can mean an increased risk of cyber threats for businesses. Below are 4 challenges that healthcare organizations said they faced when adopting cloud technology:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0<strong>Skills shortage:<\/strong>\u00a043% revealed that knowledge gaps are a persistent barrier to migrating security solutions in the cloud.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0<strong>Day-to-day operations:<\/strong>\u00a0Defining and maintaining policies (34%), patch and vulnerability management (32%) and wrong settings (32%) were some of the challenges to protect the workload of cloud data.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0<strong>Rising costs:<\/strong>\u00a043% had more spending on capital expenditures and payment for contracted services, while 39% has invested more in operational and training costs since the migration.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0<strong>Security responsibility:<\/strong>\u00a0 Only 40% of the companies interviewed feel safe with the Shared Responsibility Model.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-32105 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/TREND-MICRO-PESQUISA.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"204\" height=\"489\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/TREND-MICRO-PESQUISA.jpg 388w, https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/TREND-MICRO-PESQUISA-125x300.jpg 125w, https:\/\/abes.org.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/TREND-MICRO-PESQUISA-5x12.jpg 5w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 204px) 100vw, 204px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While migrating data to the cloud is not simple, it can be enabled and improved using the right security tools. \u201cSafety is another aspect of good construction and not a separate function. And security controls help teams better use the cloud, \u201dsays Mark Nunnikhoven, vice president of Cloud Research at Trend Micro. \u201cSecurity can be an accelerator for building in the cloud. Using the right tools and understanding the platforms you\u2019ve adopted is critical to making that happen. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>The health sector is at the forefront in the fight against COVID-19 and the digital transformation can have a positive impact on productivity and patient care during this time of critical need. However, it is essential to consider the possibility of a broader attack on this expansion of the digital infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>By adopting the right cloud technology solutions, healthcare companies can maximize the benefits of the cloud without jeopardizing their mission or their patient data.
