The Softex Campinas Nucleus (NSC) association of insurance companies\u00a0software\u00a0<\/em>that operates throughout Brazil - launches the\u00a0Up Skill,<\/em>\u00a0a technological training project, which aims to prepare a specialized workforce in information technology to meet the strong demand for professionals specialized in this sector. The initiative is already in operation in the states of S\u00e3o Paulo, Goi\u00e1s and Paran\u00e1, but the expectation is to expand the scope to all states in the country.<\/p>\n The project, which has the Workover platform as the technological base for the courses, will offer a series of training trails, courses and free content aimed at both those who intend to enter the job market, and those who are looking for a replacement. THE\u00a0Up Skill<\/em>\u00a0it is part of an initiative by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, coordinated by the national Softex and organized by the NSC, with the participation of several other science and technology institutions in the country.<\/p>\n The courses offered by the program will train professionals, both in\u00a0soft skills<\/em>\u00a0as in\u00a0hard skills<\/em>, to work in the design, development, publication, maintenance and evolution of technology-based products and systems, not only in companies that develop\u00a0software<\/em>, but also in any type of company that requires professionals in the area of systems and computing. This includes, but is not limited to, professionals in technical support for systems, software development, support for critical systems, implementation and maintenance of systems, among other specialties.<\/p>\n The project also brings together partner companies in their different areas of activity, which contribute to the formation of content according to the specialties that are demanded in that market. The curricula of those who complete the courses are made available to partner companies, so that they can evaluate and, eventually, hire these professionals.<\/p>\n According to the executive director of NSC, N\u00facleo Softex Campinas, and responsible for project management, Edvar Pera Jr, the\u00a0Up Skill<\/em>\u00a0enough to attack a chronic problem for Brazilian IT companies, which is the lack of specialized labor. According to the Brazilian Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (Brasscom) and consultancy IDC, if nothing is done, Brazil will have a deficit of 270 thousand IT professionals and an estimated loss of revenue of R $ 167 billion by the year 2024.<\/p>\n \u201cThe lack of manpower hinders the growth of Brazilian information technology companies and hinders the entire process of resuming the economy and digital transformation of the country. THE\u00a0Up Skill\u00a0<\/em>was born as a nationwide program aligned with the demands defined by the companies, both in terms of\u00a0soft skill<\/em>\u00a0how of\u00a0hard skill<\/em>, contributing to reduce the deficit of technical manpower and also to give access to young people and adults who are looking for training to update their knowledge portfolio and act in the area and will be connected with the vacancies made available by companies on the platform \u201d, he explains.<\/p>\n Expansion<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n O\u00a0Up Skill<\/em>\u00a0started in Campinas, in the interior of S\u00e3o Paulo, where a proof of concept was carried out, from January to August 2020, and the results of which confirmed the feasibility of the project and the effectiveness of the pedagogical methodology. Now, the actions are being expanded in order to allow the expansion to new centers in other locations.<\/p>\n Shortage of professionals<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the 2019 ICT Sectoral Report, of the Brazilian Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (Brasscom), the country generates 42 thousand professionals per year, but in 2018 alone it generated 43 thousand new vacancies, having a total of approximately 1 million employees. hired. In addition to the shortage of professionals being a growing problem in the area, those available need time of experience and complementary training to meet the effective needs of companies.<\/p>\n In addition, the crisis resulting from the coronavirus pandemic has been causing the dismissal of professionals in several areas, providing a window of opportunity to attract this contingent, allowing them to migrate to the technology area.
