Online medical consultations and the sending of prescription drugs to the patient's cell phone are practices that gained strength during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially to assist people from groups most vulnerable to the disease. The tendency is that some of these practices remain - and are even intensified - in the post-pandemic scenario. And, to give more security and reliability to the digital prescription of medical prescription, CPQD and the startup wconnect are starting the development of an innovative solution based on blockchain technology.<\/p>\n
Named Simples Recipe, the solution was conceived at wconnect and was one of the winning proposals of the Santander X Tomorrow Challenge, a global initiative of the Santander group aimed at supporting entrepreneurs with projects for the new post-Covid-19 social reality. More than 2,200 proposals from startups, from 14 countries, took part in this initiative, which chose the 20 best ones - Simples Receita ranked first in one of the categories.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe intention is to contribute to social distancing, preventing patients from having to go to a pharmacy to buy the medicine digitally prescribed by the doctor\u201d, explains Maur\u00edcio Conti, founder of wconnect. "With Simples Receita, the patient served via telemedicine who receives the prescription in digital format will be able to use the same platform to buy the drug at the pharmacy of their choice, via e-commerce, without leaving home", he adds.<\/p>\n
For this, the blockchain network developed in partnership with CPQD, with the support of EMBRAPII, should bring together doctors, pharmacies and patients - who can join the system by doing\u00a0onboarding<\/em>, with a very secure identification and authentication process. According to Reynaldo Formigoni, manager of Blockchain Solutions at CPQD, the project foresees the development of an initial version (minimum viable product) of the Simples Renda solution, based on blockchain, aimed at managing part of the process of issuing, controlling and using medical prescriptions digital. \u201cIn addition to providing more security to this process, blockchain technology also allows audits to be carried out on the prescriptions issued, which makes it especially indicated in cases of prescription of drugs controlled by Anvisa\u201d, says Formigoni.<\/p>\n But the objective of the project, which is expected to last three months, is to facilitate the prescription and purchase of any medicine, in a safe and reliable way. \u201cThe data structure, which includes the use of multiple blockchain networks, guarantees very robust security regarding the integrity and authenticity of the documents. At the same time, it preserves the rights of privacy and data protection of the holders, in accordance with the provisions of the LGPD \u201d, highlights Conti. \u201cFor the doctor, one of the advantages is the possibility of rescuing the prescriptions, especially in situations where there is a need to demonstrate the correctness of his conduct, as in the case of ethical-professional processes.
