\n\tIn an interview for the ABES Portal, Guilherme Bernard, president of the Santa Catarina Association of Technology Companies (ACATE), an entity affiliated to ABES since 2010, takes stock of the association's performance to promote the development and strengthening of the IT sector in Santa Catarina. \n\tWhat are the main achievements in these 28 years of activity of the entity?<\/strong>
\n\tIn almost three decades of work for the development and sustainability of technology companies in Santa Catarina, through different managements, it is difficult to list just a few achievements. However, I consider it important to highlight the consolidation of our innovative associativism model, represented, above all, by ACATE's Business Verticals. Also quite significant was the second edition of the Mapping of Human Resources and Courses in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the articulation with the State Government for the training of qualified labor, with the Gera\u00e7\u00e3o TEC program. Internally, it is important to highlight the elaboration of our strategic map for 2013-2016, the creation of the Deliberative Council and the Market Board and the pension plan aimed at technology companies, TecPrevi.
\n\t 
\n\tOther not-so-recent relevant points that we should highlight are: actions that awaken and support technology-based entrepreneurship and encourage associativism; reduction of the ISS and creation of Science and Technology secretariats in several municipalities, creation of municipal and state innovation laws, partnership between the MIDI Technological incubator and Sebrae\/SC, participation in several local, regional and national councils, own space at Sapiens Parque for 25 years, new headquarters as of December 2014, articulation with the FIESC Technology Chamber, conquest of visibility as a national and international ICT hub and creation of i3 \u2013 International Institute of Innovation.
\n\t 
\n\tWhat are ACATE's main goals for the coming years?<\/strong>
\n\tThe technological sector in Santa Catarina needs to become even more collaborative, reduce bureaucratic obstacles to entrepreneurship, attract more investments and awaken to the potential of the foreign market, without forgetting the need to expand and take advantage of the domestic purchasing power of a country of almost continental proportions. We reinforce our commitment to promoting a favorable environment for the development of innovative businesses, also intensifying qualification actions for the sector, whether in the training of manpower or in the development of cutting-edge products and services.
\n\t 
\n\tCan Santa Catarina be considered one of the Brazilian states that stands out in the technology sector? Because?<\/strong>
\n\tUndoubtedly. In this region, we bring together high-impact companies, cutting-edge teaching and research institutions and technology parks that are national references. Currently, more than 1,800 companies from Santa Catarina operate the sector and earn around R$ 2.5 billion per year, generating 20,000 direct jobs.
\n\t 
\n\tExplain what they are and the role of the entity's 13 regional centers that are present in all regions of Santa Catarina.<\/strong>
\n\tWith the objective of integrating and strengthening the technological sector in Santa Catarina, ACATE closed partnerships with regional entities throughout the State. These partners act as representatives of ACATE in each of the regions, disseminating access to agreements and benefits offered by the Association and the relationship and exchange of experiences among members.
\n\t 
\n\tACATE's regional partners are: Technological Base Nucleus of the Crici\u00fama Business Association (ACIC), Technological Base Nucleus of the Tubar\u00e3o Business Association (ACIT), Information and Communication Technological Pole of the Blumenau Region (Blusoft), Technological Pole of Oeste Catarinense (DEATEC), GTEC \u2013 Rio do Sul, MIDI Lages Incubator, Instituto \u00d3rion-Lages, Jaraguatec \u2013 Jaragu\u00e1 do Sul, Softville \u2013 Joinville and Tr\u00eas Barras.<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
