\tThe Agro 4.0 program, launched by ABDI in partnership with MAPA, MCTI and ME, covers the entire Brazilian agribusiness ecosystem in the dissemination and adoption of digital technologies.<\/p>\n

\tThere are no barriers to technology in agribusiness and it is the digital transformation that unites the system, connecting retail, industry and agriculture. The program Agro 4.0<\/a> promotes the adoption of digital technologies in the field. The launch of the program took place this Thursday (3\/9) with a webinar, bringing together representatives of the partners (MAP<\/a>, MCTI<\/a>, ME<\/a> and ABDI) and the Parliamentary Front for Agriculture. The notice for the Agro 4.0 program is now available and will receive entries until the 26th of September<\/strong>. R$ 4.8 million will be invested in 14 pilot projects for the adoption and diffusion of 4.0 technologies.<\/p>\n

\tThe Agro 4.0 launch event was attended by federal deputy Alceu Moreira (MDB-RS), president of the Parliamentary Front for Agriculture; Cleber Soares, Director of Innovation at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA); Gustavo Ene, Secretary of Development, Industry, Trade and Innovation, Ministry of Economy; Paulo Alvim, Secretary of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI); and the president of the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI), Igor Calvet, as well as the manager of the Agency's Technology Diffusion Unit, Bruno Jorge.<\/p>\n

\t\u201cAgro 4.0 symbolizes the beginning of a program that has everything to be successful. First, because it touches on an important problem in our economy, which is the increasing productivity gain in our agriculture; and then because it is an important joint exercise between several actors, bringing together several ministries and ABDI\u201d, highlighted Igor Calvet, president of ABDI.<\/p>\n

\tFor deputy Alceu Moreira, it is necessary to think of the field as a whole. \u201cAgriculture does not begin and end at the gate, but on the factory floor, when equipment for mechanized agriculture is made, and continues on the factory floor when we talk about agroindustry,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\tThe challenge of connectivity, productivity, sustainability and qualification of rural workers permeated the debate. According to the Innovation director at MAPA, Cleber Soares, rural people need technological know-how and it is necessary to promote distance learning (EaD) for the countryside. \u201cAgro 4.0 is the first concrete program to leverage digital agriculture for Brazil,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\tFor the Secretary of the MCTI, Paulo Alvim, it is also necessary to "strengthen the state research network, which is closer to the field, adapting the universities to the field's needs." And all this goes through greater connectivity. \u201cConnectivity brings challenges since the cost is very competitive and productivity is very high inside the country, and there is still a lot to be developed outside the country,\u201d said Secretary Gustavo Ene, from the Ministry of Economy.<\/p>\n

\tBruno Jorge, from ABDI, recalled that Agro 4.0 works with producers, agribusiness and the platform layer \u201cthat provide an integrated vision of the agribusiness chain. The notice will bring visibility to the digitization movement that is already happening in the field\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
