\n\tEuropean experts will exchange experiences on the impact of the data protection law on the European community on the 19th of August<\/p>\n

\tS\u00e3o Paulo, August 18, 2020<\/strong> - ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies promotes debate about the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union (General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR) in another webinar of the "Novos Tempos" series. The meeting will take place on August 19, at 2:30 pm, and experts will talk about how the regulation is affecting business in Europe and what is learned for the General Law on the Protection of Personal Data in Brazil, the LGPD. Registrations must be made through the website of Sympla<\/a> and participation is free.<\/p>\n

\t"ABES promotes this debate with experts from the European community, with the aim of exchanging experiences and learning. This is an opportunity to learn from those who have had the same experience, due to the need to adapt to the GDPR, a law similar to the LGPD" , explains Rodolfo F\u00fccher, president of ABES.<\/p>\n

\tTo debate this issue, ABES invited the data protection specialist and retired judge of the S\u00e3o Paulo Court of Justice (TJSP), Viviane N\u00f3brega Maldonado, and Pontus Vision founder and CTO, Leonardo Martins. Also in attendance will be the EXL Service's director of legal protection for the UK, Europe and South Africa, Punam Tiwari, and EXL Service's Director of Data Analytics, Daniel Rolles. The moderation will be done by Andriei Gutierrez, coordinator of the Regulatory Committee and of the Brazil Movement, Pa\u00eds Digital.<\/p>\n

\tIt is important to note that ABES and EY created the online LGPD Diagnostic tool for companies to verify their adequacy in relation to the Data Protection Legislation. The solution consists of a confidential questionnaire through which companies can self-assess the different points required by law. After filling in, the tool offers a diagnosis as to the degree of adequacy of the company with suggestions contextualized to the result.<\/p>\n

\tThe platform has information from more than 1,200 companies, of which only 40,13% meet the requirements of the LGPD. Among respondent companies, 31.3% have already suffered a violation incident in the last 2 years and 75.1% perform data collection considered sensitive.
