Due to the pandemic, many plans were changed, new challenges for people, companies and governments. Amidst so many changes in the world and in Brazil, including in the legal framework, one of them has attracted many debates: the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data (#LGPD), scheduled to come into force in August 2020 and which, until now, had not confirmed its postponement or not, despite bills and MPs that are being processed in the National Congress.<\/p>\n<p>\tFor now, what has been confirmed is the postponement of the validity of articles 52 to 54 of the LGPD that deal with administrative sanctions, postponed to August 1, 2021, according to Law 14.010\/2020, sanctioned by the President of the Republic.<\/p>\n<p>\tAnother important aspect pending is the creation of the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), which is not yet in operation. It plays a central role in defining the implementation details of all the rules that the LGPD establishes.<\/p>\n<p>\tThis is a summary of the scenario that involves carrying out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sympla.com.br\/webinar-abes-novos-tempos---desafios-da-lgpd-e-da-autoridade-nacional-de-protecao-de-dados__901793\">webinar ABES NOVOS TEMPOS: Challenges of the LGPD and the National Data Protection Authority<\/a>, scheduled for July 13, at 3 pm, which will bring together important political and sector leaders, who have participated in the LGPD debate and enactment process for several years.<\/p>\n<p>\tAn active participant in LGPD debates, the Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) aims to contribute to the construction of a more digital and less unequal Brazil, in which information technology plays a fundamental role in the democratization of knowledge and creating new opportunities for all.
