Governance is based on values, such as: trust, transparency, accountability and responsibility. A crisis, however, cannot be an excuse for leaving governance standards behind.<\/p>\n<p>\tThis topic was covered in the webinar <strong>New Times: Governance in times of crisis and the role of digital transformation<\/strong>, which ABES promoted on July 1, 2020, with the support of Esper, Paranhos, Gushiken Advogados and BSA | The Software Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>\tAfter the welcome given by the president of ABES, Rodolfo F\u00fccher, the webinar was moderated by Antonio Eduardo Mendes da Silva (Pitanga), Country Manager - Brazil at BSA | The Software Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>\t<strong>Continuity plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\tRoberto Prado, Regional VP of Solution Engineering at Salesforce, shared his story, as he has the experience of being hired during the pandemic and, until now, he never set foot in the company&#039;s office. \u201cThe first thing is to recognize that there is a lot that we don&#039;t know and we will need to understand what capabilities each company has to reopen. I saw that many organizations did well, because they had business continuity plans, some elaborated at the time of the truckers&#039; strike, for example. The technology is there to help, including to safely reprogram the opening \u201d, he pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>\t<strong>Focus on people<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\t\u201cIt is a learning experience that never stops,\u201d said Eduardo Paranhos, founding partner of the EPG Advogados office. \u201cWe were already experiencing the reality of digital transformation and the pandemic accelerated the adoption of tools, which for many companies were not a priority or necessary in the short term. Companies that are looking for investor contributions must have a governance structure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\t<strong>Learning and planning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\t\u201cMany companies needed to create crisis committees quickly, if they didn&#039;t already have them, to handle important decisions and connect representatives from all areas of the company,\u201d explained Giselle Dalan, Legal and Human Resources Director - LATAM at Genesys. \u201cIt is not just about selling, as all areas of the company have gone to work from home. It was necessary to revisit the digital platforms to ensure the operation of the entire company remotely. It is not just the business to continue. We also had to provide all the conditions for people to carry out their activities at home, knowing how, who approves, ensuring transparency and controls. The resumption also requires planning, as many variables must be considered for work in the offices \u201d, emphasized Giselle.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\t<strong>What is the future of your business&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\tRodolfo F\u00fccher, President of ABES - Brazilian Association of Software Companies - ABES and founding partner of FEMP Participa\u00e7\u00f5es, whose objective is to foster entrepreneurship, mentioned that the ABES Study - IDC, which will be launched soon, points out that the adoption of cloud for CRM is still 49%, which still needs to move forward. \u201cEntrepreneurs need to think about this immediate future. It is necessary to think about people, to maintain motivation, productivity in sharing the company&#039;s purpose to guarantee the team&#039;s commitment \u201d, he highlighted.
