VTEX, the digital commerce platform for large companies and retailers, a leader in accelerating the transformation of commerce in Latin America and now in global expansion, is open for registration for the Diverse Ecommerce Training, new free online training program aimed at black people (men and women, cis or trans) interested in developing to work in the digital commerce market. Interested parties from anywhere in Brazil can apply until October 31st through site from VTEX, where there is more information about the initiative, which offers 40 scholarships and technical training (all classes will be in Portuguese).

“Programs like this are essential to promote more diverse environments in the digital commerce market. Through Diverse Ecommerce Training and other actions we promote throughout the year, participants can develop technical knowledge and exchange experiences with renowned professionals, which enables them to boost their careers in a sector with exponential growth”, explains Isabella Souza, leader of this initiative at VTEX.

Diverse Ecommerce Training is aimed at people with an interest in the digital commerce ecosystem and who have completed or will complete, by December 2022, any higher education courses. In addition to 40 scholarships, the initiative offers those selected the opportunity to expand their professional network and obtain certification as junior ecommerce analysts with an emphasis on the VTEX platform. Over six weeks, expert professors will teach live online classes, focusing on topics such as “Introduction to Digital Commerce”, “Digital Commerce Journey” and “Knowledge of the VTEX platform”.

VTEX Black History Month

The Diverse Ecommerce Training Program is part of VTEX's Black History Month and reinforces the Company's commitment to diversity and inclusion. O Black History Month (in the original nomenclature) is the annual celebration initiated in the UK to remember and celebrate the important people and events in the history of the African Diaspora. In this context, between mid-October and November, VTEX will carry out a series of initiatives focused on ensuring opportunities and increasing the presence of black professionals in the digital commerce ecosystem, including:

  • REC Talks:internal lectures conducted by VTEX black employees, about the challenges and perspectives in relation to the labor market;
  • Hiring Training:training sessions inhiring (selection and recruitment) aimed at VTEX black professionals, with the intention of training interviewers and guaranteeing inclusive selection processes;
  • Anti-racist education course:given by the Mais Diversidade consultancy, it focuses on showing employees the importance of effective participation by all in building a more diverse and inclusive environment;
  • "Sourcing Sessions":special sessions for attracting and selecting black professionals for the job openings available at VTEX.

There will also be a large online event, free and open to the public to mark the end of the Black History Month from VTEX (all details will be posted on the Company's social networks shortly). These actions reinforce VTEX's commitment to foster diversity and inspire new generations of leaders in the technology market. Among the educational programs, VTEX also carries out the Black Tech Writer , which in two editions already had the participation of 40 black and brown professionals with an interest in technology and affinity for writing for the web.
