The acquisition will unify the technological capacity of two companies with a streak of innovation and make it possible to combine competencies in data, analytics and platforms to accelerate the evolution of current solutions and the creation of new ones.

Serasa Experian announces the partial acquisition of Brain Ag, a big data company for agribusiness financial operations, with the objective of expanding its operations in the sector. The unification of the startup platform with data from the leader in information services in Latin America creates a unique offer in the market for risk assessment in agribusiness, gathering complete information for origination, decision and monitoring of the producer in less time. The solution will allow analyzes to be done in minutes, which could have taken several days before. Due to the technological capacity and combination of data competencies of the two companies, the solution brings more agility and security for risk analysis and less bureaucracy, at affordable prices. The acquisition will make about 60 employees fully dedicated to the topic in companies after the complete integration of the systems.

Called Farm Check, the tool integrates, through intelligent algorithms, a large volume of data, compiling information on rural properties, land use, climate, processes, protests and due diligence in real estate registry offices on a single platform. Banks, tradings, investment funds, distributors of inputs, cooperatives and other potential creditors of the agribusiness can consult and manage their portfolio of clients and guarantees in one place, assessing the risks throughout the credit journey. The lender can still use the Geo module, which qualifies the guarantees and monitors the current harvest.

Marcelo Pimenta, director of DataLab and responsible for the actions aimed at this market at Serasa Experian, comments that the company chose Brain Ag due to the technological capacity of the platform. “The incredible ability of the startup's partners to undertake and the creation of the innovative Farm Check platform accelerates the entry of Serasa Experian in this segment. The tool solves a challenge in this market by providing accurate information in an agile way, in a single environment, and we will use it to distribute the new products that will be developed to make agricultural credit easier, accessible and safer for all parties involved ”, says .

Renato Girotto and Guilherme Costa are multi-entrepreneurs, had experience in other startups, and created Brain Ag in 2019 by identifying a market opportunity. "The decentralization of information, bureaucracy, high cost and low efficiency in credit analysis motivated us to create Brain Ag", say the founders. “We were very assertive in creating a tool that was very attractive to the market. The purchase of part of the company by Serasa reinforces this, and will enable us to accelerate the evolution of our current solutions, develop new products and gain scale in the market. I believe that we will go a long way and transform the agricultural credit market in the coming years ”, says Girotto.

Initially, the project is to distribute different features of Serasa Experian to the market, such as AgriScore, and reciprocity and data exchange services to keep the credit environment safer. Among other planned initiatives are Farmer ID, an app that empowers producers to take credit, market intelligence tools, digitalization and registration of securities, reputation reports and other services that will meet the growing demand for ESG policies (social, corporate governance and environmental).
