Initiative aims to connect software companies with the healthcare sector to accelerate digital transformation; the sector saw growth of over 14% in software investments last year
São Paulo, June 18, 2025 – The Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) is holding this week the inaugural meeting of its Health Vertical, with the confirmed presence of Secretary of Information and Digital Health of the Ministry of Health, Ana Estela HaddadThe participation of the federal government representative marks the beginning of a strategic agenda that aims to bring the public sector and technology companies closer together to drive the digital transformation of healthcare in Brazil.
The Healthcare Vertical is part of ABES's Business Verticals program, launched to foster structured connections between its members and key economic sectors, such as smart cities, education, and healthcare. The initiative seeks to build a collaborative environment for the development of technological solutions aligned with society's needs.
According to the Brazilian Software Market Study 2025, prepared by ABES in partnership with IDC, the healthcare sector was one of those that most expanded its investments in software, with growth greater than 14% in 2024, highlighting the accelerated pace of digitalization in the segment.

Our role, as a representative entity of the software sector, is to facilitate connections, foster knowledge, and ensure that the solutions developed by member companies generate a real impact on society," he states. At the new vertical's meetings, topics such as interoperability, electronic medical records, artificial intelligence applied to healthcare, data security, and contracting models for public and private systems will be discussed.
