A survey by Serasa Experian, the first and largest datatech company in Brazil, profiles women working in the country's information technology sector. The analysis, conducted using the company's Marketing Solutions platform, mapped 72,881 professionals and provides insight into the demographic, economic, and behavioral aspects of this group, which stands out for its diverse career paths, financial organization, and strong integration into the digital environment. The data reflects the reality of the datatech industry itself: according to data collected in February 2026, 24.51% of positions in the field are held by women.

“The numbers show that women in technology do not form a homogeneous group. They are at different stages of their careers, with distinct trajectories and economic realities, but they share a high level of digital maturity. Understanding this profile is essential for companies to develop more effective strategies for attracting, developing, and retaining female talent,” says Fernanda Guglielmi, Human Resources Manager at Serasa Experian.

Demographic profile

According to the survey, the age groups of 29 to 33 (19.2%) and 34 to 38 (18.8%) together account for 38% of women in IT, indicating a significant contingent at a stage of career consolidation. Following this are professionals aged 39 to 43 (14.4%) and 24 to 28 (15.6%).

Regarding geographical distribution, São Paulo concentrates the largest share of women in the sector, with 32.7%, followed by Rio de Janeiro (11.5%), Minas Gerais (8.8%), and Paraná (7%). Check the ranking by Federative Units (States) in the graph below:

Credit score and income

The study also shows that the financial profile of women in technology reveals an audience with a good level of financial organization. More than 52% have scores between 601 and 1000, indicating an excellent credit profile, with greater ease in obtaining loans or financing, while 31.5% are in the 401 to 600 range. More details are available in the table below:

Income analysis reinforces this heterogeneity. Of the total analyzed, 41.8% have a monthly income of up to R$2,000, reflecting the presence of professionals at the beginning of their careers, interns, or entry-level positions; while 20.2% have an income exceeding R$10,000. Furthermore, the majority of professionals are concentrated in classes B (43%) and C (32.6%). See the detailed breakdown of this view in the graphs below:

An audience with a strong affinity for digital services.

Women's consumption behavior in technology reflects their professional activities. 74.81% of women show an affinity for streaming services, while 41.41% of women use marketplaces, highlighting an audience accustomed to digital environments, online platforms, and technological solutions in their daily lives. These habits reinforce familiarity with digital experiences and rapid adaptation to new services and consumption models.
