The company presented the potential to combine Generative Artificial Intelligence and its platform in a demo on QlikWorld, which used ChatGPT to generate insights on Qlik Cloud®. Qlik is able to show how Generative Artificial Intelligence can complement a wide range of use cases, from adding external datasets to analysis, expanding context with Natural Language readings, and asking questions that provide new insights from the data.

“Today, organizations are actively using classic and predictive AI to accelerate their experimentation with the generative tool in their use cases, including those in Data Analytics, decision support and automation,” said Dan Vesset, vice president of data research and analytics at IDC. "Qlik's new OpenAI connections will provide tools to augment the ongoing work of its analysts and developers, allowing them to establish the necessary control and governance to fully leverage this new technology."

The general availability of Qlik's OpenAI connections is the first in a planned set of services and solutions that will leverage the company's open platform approach to help customers and partners innovate and drive more use and value from their data with Generative Artificial Intelligence. The OpenAI connection set includes:

Qlik OpenAI Analytics Connector – Allows real-time access to generative content in Qlik Sense apps. Users can securely integrate natural language information directly from OpenAI into analytics applications, synthesize and combine third-party data into existing models, ask questions directly to ChatGPT with data from the Qlik platform, and much more. Qlik's analytics engine sends subsets of data to OpenAI in real-time to insights and responses within the context selected by users.

– Qlik OpenAI Connector for Application Automation – Helps developers enhance their existing workflows with Artificial Intelligence and powered content Large Language Models (LLM) when creating expressions, commands, or scripts. Developers can leverage OpenAI to help quickly and efficiently create and deliver additional value for use cases such as sentiment analysis for CRM applications and customer service teams, translating product reviews or materials into different languages, or also, summarize complex external information for the internal public to complement the analysis of market trends.
