
Companies to Add Google Cloud VMware Engine to VMware Cloud Universal Program
Google Cloud and VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW) today announced the expansion of their partnership to help customers accelerate application modernization and cloud transformation. Customers will now be able to use the VMware Cloud Universal program to leverage Google Cloud VMware Engine. With this extended partnership, enterprise customers will have greater financial flexibility, options and the ability to accelerate cloud migration and modernize enterprise applications on Google Cloud.
The Google Cloud VMware Engine allows customers to migrate VMware applications to the cloud without having to change applications, tools or processes, which typically takes customers to complete the process in less than an hour(1). The VMware Cloud Verified and Google Cloud native service provides enterprise-ready cloud infrastructure for business-critical vSphere workloads, with security, availability, resource optimization, manageability and operational support capabilities built into the core service.
Once in the cloud, customers will be able to immediately build hybrid applications that deliver business agility, with more secure access to Google services such as BigQuery and cloud operations, and extend existing DR, backup and storage services. Combining Google Cloud VMware Engine with the VMware Cloud Universal program gives businesses:
- Average savings of 38% in total cost of ownership (TCO) over three years compared to on-premises environments(1)
- Average annual savings of more than US$ 2 million(1)
- Average savings of US$ 115K in labor costs through existing VMware and Google Cloud tools(1)
- Dedicated East-West 100Gbps high availability network with a service level agreement of 99,99% uptime to cluster(2)
VMware Cloud Universal is a flexible buy and consume program for executing digital transformation and multi-cloud strategies. With Google Cloud VMware Engine as part of the VMware Cloud Universal program, VMware and VMware partners will be able to offer Google Cloud VMware Engine with other VMware Cross-Cloud services so customers can execute their digital transformation initiatives in line with your schedules, with lower overall costs and risks.
