The company has implemented cutting-edge technology that optimizes access and strengthens security at the Peruvian bank's headquarters.

NEC implemented an access control system based on facial recognition technology at Interbank's headquarters, a 20-story building in Lima, Peru. This solution is part of the bank's digital transformation strategy, designed to optimize the entry and exit of people and vehicles. Interbank, a Peruvian financial institution founded 28 years ago, trusted NEC to carry out this cutting-edge project.
After implementing the project, access to the building became faster and safer for all users, both pedestrians and drivers. The solution eliminates queues, reduces contact with surfaces, and improves the flow of people.
The system allows you to define temporary access permissions, which enhances building security. It also recognizes people wearing masks, glasses, or other accessories with high accuracy.
In addition to providing and integrating cutting-edge technology, NEC trained Interbank's technical team during a trial period lasting approximately two months, ensuring that the system could be managed independently by the financial institution. NEC does not operate the system or have access to the customer database. The contract also provides for ongoing support and maintenance.
"This project demonstrates the value of NEC's contribution, combining world-class technology with the expertise of its teams across all phases of the project: testing, training, integration, and support. A key aspect is respect for the client's governance, as the company provided support without accessing the institution's information or database," highlights Jorge Vargas, vice president of NEC's DGDF business unit in Latin America.
