Meeting with the movement Digital Brazil 2030+ discussed actions to expand infrastructure and digital literacy throughout the country.

The Ministry of Communications (MCom) took another step towards building the National Digital Inclusion Plan (PNID). This Tuesday (28), in Brasília (DF), representatives of the ministry met with the movement Digital Brazil 2030+ (BD30+) to discuss the signing of a Technical Cooperation Agreement aimed at expanding connectivity and strengthening digital literacy in underserved communities in the country.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Communications (MCom) presented initiatives from the Federal Government that already contribute to the democratization of internet access, such as the National Economic Development Program (PNDE), which covers infrastructure, security, digital skills, and financial accessibility. The Director of Sectoral Policy at MCom, Juliano Stanzani, highlighted that the partnership could strengthen the ministry's actions in implementing the PNID.

“We had a very important moment of exchanging information, objectives, and initiatives focused on digital inclusion, especially digital literacy. Our goal, within the PNID (National Program for the Development of the Interior), is for Brazil to continue improving its digital skills indicators. We sought out BD30 because it involves several associations that have joined forces to enhance existing government initiatives in the private sector,” says Juliano.

The director of BD30+Glória Guimarães emphasized that the association is committed to supporting the government in developing public policies aimed at the conscious and safe use of the internet.

"Our idea is to coordinate and articulate actions that will rapidly catalyze effective results, in a joint effort, towards building a more digital Brazil." BD30+ "It is present in all projects that are strategic pillars of digital inclusion; we are together in initiatives related to research and development, the business environment, and in all movements in which our associates actively contribute — here, more specifically, focusing on the PNID, which we consider fundamental," emphasizes Glória.

O Digital Brazil 2030+ It is a multi-sector movement that brings together representatives from the public and private sectors, focusing on promoting the sustainable and digital development of the country. One of the strategic pillars of the initiative is Social and Digital Inclusion, which seeks to create a safe and accessible digital environment, in alignment with the National Digital Education Plan (PNED).

The director also highlighted that the main missions of the Ministry of Communications currently are infrastructure and digital inclusion. The director of BD30+Glória Guimarães stated that the association is concerned with bringing digital literacy to the population within the PNID (National Program for the Development of the Interior) and knows how to do this effectively.

Regarding the Cooperation Agreement

The initial proposal is to establish a Technical Cooperation Agreement with the Ministry of Communications. Among the benefits, BD30+ highlights the following points:

a) National Digital Literacy Plan as Orchestrator: coordinate the creation of a unified strategy for the country;

b) Monitoring: centralize the tracking of indicators for all initiatives, ensuring transparency and visibility;

c) Convergence: conduct a strategic analysis of existing digital literacy initiatives, identifying synergies and opportunities for improvement;

d) Digital Security: promoting digital education as a means of reducing fraud and strengthening online security;

e) Unification: consolidating isolated efforts into a national policy, expanding results and promoting inclusion on a large scale.
