The PROA Institute, in partnership with Senac, has opened registration for ProProfissão, a free, semi-presential vocational course for young people aged 17 to 22 interested in programming. The six-month course includes four hours of classes per day, Monday to Friday, plus some Saturday sessions. Registration is open until June 7th and must be completed through [website/platform name - implied but not explicitly stated in the original text]. link.

Certified by PROA and Senac, the course is structured to broaden access to job opportunities in the technology sector, especially given the strong investment in the area. Upon approval of their application, the young person receives learning materials and a uniform. The curriculum covers basic programming languages such as Java, C# .NET, and Kotlin, but goes far beyond technical content: it also includes topics focused on developing behavioral and communication skills in the workplace.

After completing the ProProfissão program, participants are supported by PROA's Employability area, which connects them with over six thousand partner companies, such as Itaú, Oracle, and Casas Bahia, in addition to offering individual career path support for up to three years. Last year, the employability rate was 87% among young graduates. To participate, it is necessary to be currently enrolled in or have already completed the 3rd year of high school in a public school and reside in Greater São Paulo.

According to the CEO and president of the Institute, Alini Dal'Magro, the actions developed throughout the course and after its completion generate concrete impacts on the students' insertion into the job market. “Today we see, in practice, that ProProfissão transforms trajectories. The high rate of young graduates who find employment after completing the course shows how initiatives focused on training and connection with the market are effective. For many of them, who live in vulnerable contexts and had few prospects, this opportunity represents a new beginning,” says the executive.

Young people and the job market

Ebson Oliveira dos Santos, a member of the 2025 ProProfissão class, found a turning point in his professional trajectory through PROA, thanks to his exposure to the technology field. During the program, he had access to programming content and practical challenges that stimulated the development of logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. “PROA changed my life, both personally and professionally. It completely transformed my way of thinking, positioning myself, and working in a team.”

Currently at XP Inc., Ebson works with People Analytics in the Human Resources area. In his professional routine, he works with data analysis and indicators that support strategic decisions within the company, applying knowledge and skills developed during the course. "I had never imagined working in the data area, much less within HR, and it was there that I discovered the universe of People Analytics," he says. He reports that the opportunity marked the beginning of a new professional stage: "It was a giant step in my career and the chance to put into practice everything I learned in PROA, such as teamwork, communication and organization."“

Like Ebson, Ellen Luiza da Silva Barbosa found in the course a space for personal and professional growth. Throughout the six months of classes, the young woman had the opportunity to develop new skills, strengthen her confidence, and build bonds that marked her journey. “My experience with PROA was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was a place where I grew a lot, both personally and professionally, and I also made great friendships,” she says.

Today, Ellen works at Heineken, one of the world's largest breweries, and says that the training she received at PROA was essential to her academic and professional journey. According to her, the learning acquired throughout the course was important at the beginning of college, when she was still adapting to new challenges. "PROA helped me a lot, especially at the beginning of my college years, when I was still a bit lost, but as the learning progressed, I was able to understand and develop better in the content, as well as gain more confidence," she says.
