Changes were driven by the intense transformation of the ICT segment in the last two years and are aimed at improving consulting practices that meet new market requirements; Luciano Ramos assumes the role of Country Manager, while Luciano Saboia and Reinaldo Sakis occupy new management positions

IDC Brazil, a leader in market intelligence, consulting services and conferences with the Information Technology and Telecommunications industries, announces a new executive structure in Brazil. The changes aim to strengthen the company's operation in the country and increasingly bring and integrate its operations with that of the IDC Latin America and IDC Worldwide teams.

The restructuring arises from the need to improve the company's practices, meeting new requirements of the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) sector, which underwent an intense transformation in the last two years and should continue to be impacted over the next few years. Among the main pillars of the sector's current moment, stand out new ways of doing business and relating to customers; the integration of technologies and architectures, such as the arrival of 5G and updates to the core networks; the emergence of other classes of services, products and business partners; the global shortage of electronic components; an increasingly digital and connected world, and the growing concern with data and information security.

The first major change is the promotion of Luciano Ramos to the position of Country Manager at IDC Brasil, taking over from Denis Arcieri, who took over as vice president of LATAM sales in February 2022. The executive has been at IDC Brasil for more than 9 years old, where he held the position of Research and Consulting manager for Enterprise. From now on, Ramos will be responsible for maintaining IDC's image as the main provider of intelligence and information for the ICT market in Brazil, a very challenging region due to its peculiarities and unique characteristics within its continent.

“My first objective is to maintain the level of proximity and market relationship established by Denis over more than ten years at the head of the operation. In addition, we have the ambition to continue to evolve and attract new customers. I will continue to manage research in the Enterprise areas, but also the other local IDC teams, taking a more holistic and broader view, and strengthening ties with other IDC teams in the region and the world”, says the new Country Manager.

“Luciano is a professional who manages to transform all his technological knowledge into strategic insights for our clients. He has always shown great concern for the quality of the information produced. I am very happy and proud to hand over the role of Country Manager of the Brazil operation to Luciano Ramos and I am sure that our customers will be in excellent hands”, comments Denis Arcieri, who remains based in Brazil, despite his regional responsibility as VP of LATAM sales, and maintains joint work with the local team to ensure the success of the operation.

Luciano Saboia and Reinaldo Sakis, who held the positions of Telecommunications Research and Consulting manager in Brazil and Consumer Devices Research and Consulting manager in Brazil, respectively, assume the positions of director of Research and Consulting for Telecommunications LATAM and director of Consumer Devices LATAM Research and Consulting. “Saboia and Sakis now have a more strategic view of the Brazilian market. They will be even closer to the market, will seek greater integration with LATAM and globally in their respective areas and will have the challenge of expanding the flow of information and knowledge with other regional leaders, both to present the best successful practices in Brazil and to absorb initiatives that worked in other locations”, explains Ramos.

With the changes, Luciano Saboia, who will continue to lead his Brazilian Telecommunications Research and Consulting team, will also head the corresponding areas in other Latin American countries, having the markets of Argentina, Chile, Colombia under his umbrella. and Mexico. “The telecommunications segment is undergoing a transformation that will remain intense in the coming years. People demand more connectivity and this theme has reached a strategic level for companies, driven by everything that has been experienced in the last two and a half years”, explains the executive. “This scenario raises the players' level of preparation in their choices and decision-making, and the contents prepared by IDC have supported operators around the world in this transformation. In Latin America, we have a competitive environment, with unique regional characteristics and a latent need for an ecosystem. In this direction, the main challenge will be to expand and leverage IDC's global practices in the telecommunications segment for our local clients, making pertinent adaptations to the characteristics, differences and needs of each country”.

Reinaldo Sakis, who was already responsible for the Brazilian Consumer Devices Research and Consulting team – which conducts studies on the smartphones, PCs, tablets and wearables markets – now takes on a management position that includes the regional leadership of these technologies, also reaching analysts based in countries neighboring LATAM, aligning the best practices and leveraging the knowledge of IDC Brasil and IDC Latin America. Sakis highlights the challenges he will face in his new role. “I will be closer and closer to customers to help them identify their pain points and offer our solutions. We are in a far from simple moment, due to the various events that have impacted the economy in recent years and influenced the behavior of companies and consumers - especially the pandemic, which affected global supply chains, companies' investment capacity and the consumption capacity of companies. people. Therefore, it is important to leverage the work carried out in Brazil and expand its reach to countries such as Mexico, Chile and Argentina, to name a few examples. More than ever, customers will need information and support from IDC Brasil to define their strategies and direct their business, and that is what we are going to offer”, says Sakis.
