Precise data storage, agile and integrative software, in addition to the use of virtual assistants, transform the patient experience quickly and safely

Artificial intelligence has great potential in the field of laboratories. Its applications grow every day to facilitate both management and the agility to issue more accurate exams. According to information from the technology company Tractica, released by the Business Wire portal, the estimate is that this market will move around $34 billion dollars by 2025.

And in this scenario, the Santa Catarina Laboratory, in Blumenau, is already emerging with the migration to a new system offered by one of the largest health technology companies in Brazil, Pixeon. Laboratório Santa Catarina implemented the LIS, BackOffice and Digital Reception tools. Among the benefits are full traceability of all actions and modifications, data security, as the backup process is automatic, and immediate patient care, 24 hours a day, through automation.

“The new system makes it possible to update information in real time from patient reception, collection and delivery of results, also ensuring optimized management of materials. Through cloud operation, the data can be accessed at any time in any browser, enabling greater speed, reliability and efficiency in the release of exams”, highlights the technical director of Laboratório Santa Catarina, Guilherme Reverey do Prado.

In addition to full integration with the main laboratory equipment, another great advantage of the new system is the integration with local clinics, allowing the direct sending of exams for the evaluation of the requesting physician.

Virtual assistant with artificial intelligence

How many times do we need to take an exam and we are in doubt if it is necessary to fast and for how long? Virtual assistants make it possible to resolve these and other doubts, in addition to streamlining other laboratory processes such as scheduling appointments and releasing exams.

It works in the laboratory's messaging applications and helps interact with patients who are able to make a series of appointments immediately, without a queue, 24 hours a day, at the moment they want to be seen.

For the patient, this system is much easier, since he will not have to call or go to the laboratory during business hours. And for health professionals, it is a way to automate this function, avoiding overloading attendants and even avoiding losing patients due to lack of immediate care.

“In addition to scheduling, confirming and sending test results at any of the units of Laboratório Santa Catarina, the virtual assistant can provide information about the performance of tests, and answer other common questions such as prices, laboratory address, opening hours, among others”, points out Guilherme.

Artificial intelligence for laboratories is already a reality capable of modifying both the daily lives of health professionals and the relationship with patients, helping to offer more accurate and adequate care. In addition, it assists in digital processes and laboratory routines, promoting a faster and safer patient journey.
