Executives from global consultancy Capco, Itaú Unibanco and NVIDIA met in São Paulo (SP) to discuss best practices in implementing technology in the sector
In recent months, several studies have revealed significant growth in the adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) by Brazilian companies. Now more accessible and reliable, this technology has gained space in corporate daily life. However, many organizations still face difficulties in exploring its full potential, especially at a time when the tool is establishing itself as an inevitable reality and moving into a new phase of development. In this scenario, executives from Capco – Wipro Group consultancy specializing in technology and management for the financial and energy sectors –, from Itaú and NVIDIA met in São Paulo to discuss best practices in implementing GenAI in the financial sector.
Capco stresses that the adoption of AI must be done with caution. “Our main objective is to ensure that AI is used productively, generating concrete results for organizations.”, he said Luciano Sobral, partner and head of the consultancy's Brazilian operations. The executive stressed that GenAI is not a universal solution, but a tool that requires maturity from both people and companies. Another challenge addressed was the integration of GenAI into legacy systems in the financial sector, many of which have been operating for decades. How can we integrate artificial intelligence in this context? We are collaborating with our clients to maximize the use of the tool.”, commented Sobral.
AI-driven transformation is already underway and there is no turning back. “This change completely changes the way we worked until recently. Although the technology is not yet perfect, its impact on our daily lives is undeniable,” stated Marcel Saraiva, sales manager for NVIDIA's Enterprise division in Brazil. The need to assess the real impact of AI before starting any project was also highlighted.”One of our team's main tasks is to talk to partners and customers to understand the problem to be solved and verify whether artificial intelligence is, in fact, the appropriate solution.”, added Saraiva.
Furthermore, the experts emphasized the importance of treating AI like any other product. “It is essential to focus on the problem, not the solution. We must map out the application process in detail, define the expected results and evaluate the return on investment. We should not implement anything without this analysis,” he explained. Bruno Gobbet, Head of Data and AI at Itaú Unibanco.
At the end of the event, executives discussed the main market trends. Among them, the use of multimodal agents and models stood out, which expand the applications of AI beyond text, incorporating videos, images and voice, with the aim of improving customer relationships and optimizing processes. Advances in intelligent robotics were also mentioned. The next step is to integrate physics into artificial intelligence. If we can solve the physics challenges within AI, we can advance intelligent robotics, creating humanoids that understand the laws of physics.”, Saraiva projected.
The event, promoted by LeadersX, marked the beginning of a series of Capco meetings in Brazil on GenAI, with the aim of exploring its implementation, the opportunities to increase business efficiency and the challenges to be overcome.
