Tool is already used by more than 20 city halls and aims to reduce the bureaucracy of public management by making different services available to citizens digitally

With the aim of bringing citizens closer to public services, Grupo Assessor, an Information Technology company specializing in public management, developed Smartpolis, an application that allows citizens to request and monitor different services through digital means, avoiding the need to travel.

In all, 21 public bodies are already operating with the Grupo Assessor application, including the Municipality of Barretos, the Municipality of Brotas, the Municipality of Araçatuba and the Municipality of Presidente Venceslau.

To develop the solution and support the constant updates that the public service demands in its different spheres, Grupo Assessor chose the Low-Code GeneXus tool, which was provided by the GeneXus distributor Socium Partner Group.

The application serves two fronts: citizens and companies. For the first, the resources involve scheduling medical appointments, consulting medicine balances, issuing a debit certificate, in addition to consulting and generating the collection document for the payment of IPTU (Urban Property and Territorial Tax). For companies, external links are available related to the business sector of the municipality, as well as the debt certificate and IPTU.

“There are a multitude of services that the municipality can provide through the application. The idea is to bring citizens and companies closer to public administration, without the need to travel, that is, without wasting time”, explains Hevandro Ferreira, managing partner of Grupo Assessor.

The next step of the application will be the implementation of resources such as Dial Denúncia, queries of exam results and digitalization of exams, allowing the doctor to attach images, PDF or documents referring to the patient.

For Ricardo Recchi, country manager of GeneXus Brazil, Portugal and Cape Verde, the Low-Code tool enables the Advisory Group to quickly parameterize the needs of different intuitions. In addition, the constant updating of the tool supports developments and features demanded by the market. “The direct benefits of this development reflect on the approximation of the citizen with the public administration, not to mention the saving of time, processes and paper”, concludes Recchi.
