 1.       Focus on the right things to lay strong foundations – You CDAOs firstly need to focus on the right things to lay solid foundations. “Not all data is equally important”, warns Gartner analyst. According to him, the CDAOs they should focus on the data that most influences business outcomes, understand key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs), and build a business case. “They need to share the common DQ language with stakeholders and set standards in Date Quality", it says med.

2.       Apply data quality responsibility – After to establish the foundations, the CDAOs need to get support from the D&A governance committee and dedicated data stewards from business units and the core D&A team who will proactively shift gears based on priority. They will look for new ways to help with improvements and potentially in building new ways to validate data in real time, whenever necessary, to help in filling gaps. “Data is a team sport. Therefore, the CDAOs need to form special interest groups that can benefit from the data quality, communicate benefits and share best practices with other business units,” adds Medd.

3.       Establish “fit for purpose” data quality – To improve DQ, it is important to perform data profiling and data monitoring to understand and validate current data gaps and challenges, monitor and build improvement plans. then the CDAOs need to transition to a trust-based governance model to drive enterprise-wide adoption of DQ initiatives.

4.       Integrate data quality into corporate culture – You CDAOs can improve the quality of their companies' data using technologies to reduce manual efforts and obtain faster results. They also do this by identifying frequent issues. in Date Quality and incorporating the solutions into the business workflow.
