Results of Smart Floripa – Transforming Florianópolis into a Smart City is presented by ABES at Connected Smart Cities
ABES – Brazilian Association of Software Companies, always in search of solutions for a more digital and less unequal Brazil, presented the results of the study supported by the association “Smart Floripa – Transforming Florianópolis into a Smart City”. ABES' Innovation and Development Director, Jamile Sabatini Marques, attended the Regional Event Florianópolis, organized by Connected Smart Cities, and moderated the panel 'Presentation of the Smart Cities plan for Florianópolis'.
The research, carried out by Fecomercio with support from ABES and in partnership with the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), the University of São Paulo (USP), QUT from Australia, the Capital City Hall, the Instituto Lixo Zero, Floripamanhã, Senac, Sebrae SC and the State Government, shows that training, attracting talent, creating more social spaces and valuing local art and culture are among the measures considered essential to transform the city.
“With this study we were able to verify that, among other actions, it is important that we work on entrepreneurship in children and women, and especially in the technology and innovation sector, which demonstrates a lack of qualified labor. In addition, it is necessary to invest in reducing bureaucracy, infrastructure and intelligent urban mobility, thus we are able to provide a better structure for having young talents and emerging people qualified for the labor market. This critical look at all these points is essential and of fundamental importance for the construction of a smart city”, points out Jamile.
Florianópolis won second place in the Connected Smart Cities Ranking for its potential in innovation, mobility and technology. “We were able to see that all participants in the event brought actions that made us reflect on what is important for the city to grow and become a smart city. We ended the event with the certainty that we need to work together with the different actors in the region to achieve the same objective”, he explains.
The study, which is available for query here, was presented at the Florianópolis Regional Event, organized by Connected Smart Cities, which took place on June 8th. Held digital 100%, the presentation brought together government, entities and companies to debate and exchange ideas focused on the need of Brazilian cities so that they can become smarter and more connected. Other regions of the country will also be discussed. Check the events calendar: https://evento.connectedsmartcities.com.br/eventos-regionais/
