The Program, which was awarded internationally, will select solutions in the area of health, sustainability and tax management.

BrazilLAB, the first GovTech innovation hub in Brazil, launched this December another edition of its GovTech Startups Acceleration Program, an initiative that aims to connect innovative solutions from the private sector with the challenges of the Public Power. The official launch of Turma 7 took place during BrazilLAB Talks #8, on December 15th, Thursday, at 10:30 am. The event was online and its recording can be checked by link.

In addition to announcing the thematic challenges of this 7th edition, which has the support of AWS and the UK Tech Hub, the schedule and information on registration for the GovTech Startups Acceleration Program were presented, ending with a chat with three participants from the last class who shared experiences, learning and tips for selection, in addition to the opportunities and benefits of the Program.

Below are the main questions to be answered with this year's thematic challenges.

Digital Cities and Sustainability (Green GovTech): Which technologies can support Brazilian municipalities in monitoring and reducing the carbon footprint of their activities? How to encourage the adoption of strategies and innovations aimed at sustainable and inclusive public procurement? What solutions can make cities more inclusive and responsive? How to make public management more resilient in the face of environmental and climate challenges? How to measure and combat the impact of corruption on climate change and the lack of socio-environmental integrity?;

Digitalization of Health Services (Health GovTech): which technologies can support the Public Power in Brazil (Union, States and Municipalities) in optimizing public health management in Brazil? How to support the digitization of medical records, reducing queues, adopting telemedicine and managing supplies, quickly and safely? How to encourage the adoption and diffusion of new technologies for the public authorities in Brazil, aimed at the prevention and early diagnosis of diseases, especially cancer?

Tax Optimization and Efficiency (Tax GovTech): which technologies can help the Brazilian Public Power in the effort to make the State-taxpayer interaction 100% digital, including transparency in tax collection and expenditure? How to digitize all Brazilian tax administrative processes? How to give more transparency to tax benefit policies, measuring their environmental and economic impact, as well as the social and environmental responsibility of the benefited companies?

According to the CEO of BrazilLAB, Guilherme Dominguez, “in addition to being a unique program for its exclusive content, now recognized nationally and internationally, the opportunities and connections created throughout the BrazilLAB Startups Acceleration Program, between the participating startups and between them and the BrazilLAB Network, are the great differentials of our acceleration. And we continue to reinvent and improve ourselves, always looking for solutions to relevant topics with great social impact.”.

Enrollment and participation in the program are free, including equity free. However, participation in all stages of the Acceleration Program is mandatory, under penalty of disqualification of the participating company. Any startups or Small and Medium Enterprises (PME's) that have solutions that meet one of the challenges presented can apply and registrations will not be accepted from individuals or in the stage of ideas, a CNPJ being a prerequisite.

The selected businesses will undergo training modules on topics such as public procurement, government relations and social impact assessment, individual and collective mentoring, in addition to activities related to the thematic challenges and events during which they will be able to connect with public leaders, specialists and partners of the GovTech ecosystem. After the 3 months of training, the 6 best participating startups will be judged by an evaluation panel composed of specialists from the BrazilLAB Network and the 3 startups/PME's with the best performance will be awarded, with benefits that include a year of the BrazilLAB GovTech Seal, access to investors and participation in national and international events.
