Young people between 17 and 22 years old have until the date to ensure preparation for their first job

Entering the job market on your own is no easy task, especially for those seeking their first job. Instituto PROA, however, is dedicated to facilitating this integration, and one way is through the PROA Platform – the institution's online course for young people aged 17 to 22 from public schools. Those wishing to enroll in the Platform in 2025 have until October 19th to register and receive employment monitoring early next year.

Since its inception in 2020, the PROA Platform has closely monitored both the market and young people. In the course modules, students will learn about topics that are frequently explored in the job market, such as communication, logical reasoning, and teamwork. The goal of this close focus on demand is to facilitate young people's first job placement—a success, as 60% of the young people who complete the PROA Platform are employed within six months of completing the course.

According to Alini Dal'Magro, president and CEO of the institution, the way the course is developed is essential to fill the gaps of companies that need qualified professionals, as well as preparing young people who lack jobs.

"We see a contradiction in the job market between available positions and qualified professionals. Demand often outstrips supply, and that's what we seek to avoid with this course. We offer young people the opportunity to grow where they'll find the most opportunities for their qualifications, which will certainly impact their future employability after completing their PROA training," Alini emphasizes.

In addition to technical skills, the PROA Platform also offers cultural development to young people. For Vitor Hugo Rodrigues (22), a young resident of Goiânia and a former student of the course, PROA provided more than a path to the job market: it offered a personal transformation. "I thought it was just about getting a job, but I realized it was a lifelong project. I learned about self-knowledge, about what I really want for the future, and what I need to do to get there. I started to better interact with the people around me, including my family. What I learned in the course transformed me," says the young man.

Inside the PROA Institute

Founded in 2007, the PROA Institute has already impacted the lives of more than 30,000 young Brazilians. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the institution, which until then had only offered in-person courses, needed to reinvent itself: thus, the PROA Platform was born, completely online and free. This enabled PROA to reach places it had never reached before. Today, the institute has students in 12 Brazilian states, spanning more than 2,700 cities.

Aiming to help even more young people find their first job, PROA has an ambitious goal for 2030: to train 110,000 young people. The institute's overarching mission is to generate social mobility through employability at scale, creating concrete opportunities for low-income young people to transform their life trajectories. PROA understands that access to decent employment is a decisive step toward breaking cycles of poverty, increasing family income, and expanding future prospects.
