On April 3, 2025, ABES promoted the launch of the work “Technology and Innovation: Connecting Public Policies and Brazil’s Competitive Growth”, in partnership with the Institute of Advanced Studies of the University of São Paulo (IEA/USP). The publication, which brings together 70 articles written by experts throughout 2024, explores topics ranging from artificial intelligence to ESG, cybersecurity and LGPD, constituting an essential compendium for understanding and facing the country's technological challenges and opportunities. This is the second book developed with researchers and leaders of the association's Committees and WGs. To download the books for free, access here.

The launch program included an opening with the presence of Prof. Dr. Roseli de Deus Lopes, director of IEA-USP, Dr. Andriei Gutierrez, president of ABES, and Dr. Jamile Sabatini Marques, director of Think Tank. Paulo Milliet Roque, president of the entity's Board, also attended the launch.

The main panel addressed vital topics on regulation and protection in the digital environment, with renowned experts such as MSc. Eduardo Paranhos, Partner at EPG Advogados and Leader of the ABES Artificial Intelligence Working Group; Dr. Natália Marroni Borges, postdoctoral fellow in Artificial Intelligence and Foresight at UFRGS and Researcher at the ABES Think Tank on Digital Platforms; and Dr. Leonardo Melo Lins, PhD and Master in Sociology from USP, as well as Researcher at the ABES Think Tank on Artificial Intelligence; moderated by Dr. Rodrigo Brandão de Andrade e Silva, PhD in Sociology and Master in Political Science from USP.

The panelists discussed AI regulation and its impacts on socioeconomic development, as well as the care required in the process of implementing AI solutions by companies and the need for Brazil to advance in training people for the digital age. These discussions provided a comprehensive view of the impact that innovations can have on Brazil's sustainable development, stimulating dialogue between different sectors of society.

Held in the Alfredo Bosi Room on the USP campus in São Paulo, the event was accessible both in person and online, expanding its reach to those interested in technology and innovation. In her speech, Jamile Sabatini Marques, Director of Innovation and Development at ABES, highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, companies, academia and society to boost knowledge and strengthen Brazil's competitiveness in a rapidly evolving global market.
