Students from all over the country can enroll from February 1 to March 8 in the CiberEducação Program, which last year trained more than 500 young professionals in the field

Cisco do Brasil is launching a new stage of the CiberEducação Program, which offers professional training in digital security. The initiative, which combines the efforts of the digital acceleration strategy “Cisco Brasil Digital e Inclusivo” and the educational offer of the global social responsibility program Cisco Networking Academy, is open for registration between February 1st and March 8th.

Held remotely 100%, CiberEducação has four phases, starting with a knowledge marathon, the Learn-A-Thon, in March. The objective is to stimulate and train students in the exploratory course of the Networking Academy, “Fundamentals of Cybersecurity”. Open to students from participating Cisco academies and the general public, this stage will be a three-week self-taught learning marathon and its completion is a prerequisite for the best students to compete for the 1,300 free professional training scholarships offered by Cisco and its partners.

In addition to Learn-A-Thon, the CiberEducação program has the following phases :.

  • Professional Training for Students: 1,300 selected Learn-A-Thon students will be trained in the CCNA 1 vocational course, focused on networks, and in “Network Security”, which prepares for specialized careers in infrastructure security. This phase will also include complementary training in conjunction with Cisco Networking Academy educational partners.
  • Training of Instructors: the program will also include teacher training in the new Network Security course. This course will replace the current CCNA Security. The objective of this phase is to create a sustainable chain of Brazilian Cyber Security educators, where instructors will act as multipliers of Networking Academy content in their institutions.
  • Internship and Employment Opportunity: in the last phase, the best students will be able to put the acquired knowledge into practice. The best talent will have access to an internship or employment program, positions that will be offered by Cisco partners and customers.

Training the next generation of digital security professionals

The CiberEducação Program, which has strategic partners: Centro Paula Souza, Senai Nacional, School of Communications of the Brazilian Army and SENAC Minas Gerais, aims to increase the number of professionals trained for the job market in the area of cybersecurity, one of that grow the most and offer the most vacancies in the country.

The first training wave, launched in July 2020, reached more than 17,000 students from all over the country, who participated in the knowledge marathon. The final phase trained 513 students in professional cybersecurity programs. The top 100 students in the 2020 class will win a full voucher to apply to the CyberOps Associate certification exam. In all, more than 80 Cisco Networkng Academy academies from 20 states participated in the CyberEducation Program.
