The Qualifica SP Empreenda program, from the Secretariat of Economic Development (SDE), is now accepting applications for 5,000 places in the free "Ela Empreende!" course, held in partnership with Itaú. The training is exclusively for women interested in starting or strengthening their small businesses. Residents of the São Paulo Metropolitan Region can register through the program's website. www.qualificasp.sp.gov.br/#nossas-ofertas.
Developed in digital format, with short lessons and simple language, the content has been adapted for use on mobile phones, allowing participants to fit the lessons into their daily routine.
With an introductory character, Ela Empreende! is structured in 10 modules that address initial concepts of entrepreneurship, such as planning, financial organization, revenue control, digital marketing, innovation, access to credit, networking, and the specific challenges of being a woman entrepreneur in Brazil. The content was developed for immediate practical application in the day-to-day operations of small businesses.
With over 147 million users in the country, the choice of WhatsApp as a platform for entrepreneurial training aligns with the reality of the Brazilian population. According to Statista data, Brazil is the app's second-largest market in the world, behind only India, and is regularly used by 991% of Brazilians with internet access.
“We believe that public policy needs to reach people where they are. By using a tool that is so present in women's daily lives, we can broaden the reach of training, support female entrepreneurship, and create real conditions for income generation,” says Amiris de Paula, Undersecretary for Entrepreneurship and Productivity at SDE.
