In a scenario where sustainability transcends trend status to become a necessity, companies are adopting sustainable measures as a manifestation of their commitment to the future of the planet and the expectations of increasingly conscious consumers.

These actions not only mitigate the environmental impact of corporate operations, but also attract professionals who value and prioritize organizations engaged in responsible practices. This movement reflects an evolution in companies' perception of their role in society, integrating sustainability and corporate responsibility as essential pillars of success, in addition to the search for profitability.

Mariane Guerra, Vice President of Human Resources at ADPglobal leader in payroll management and human capital management solutions for Latin America, points out four sustainable measures that companies can adopt to attract and retain talent:

1) Incorporate sustainability into the talent attraction strategy: As the workforce becomes increasingly conscious from the point of view of sustainability, environmental concerns have become increasingly relevant when making career decisions. Promoting sustainable practices and communicating them efficiently can make the company more attractive to professionals looking for a purpose aligned with their values. Disclosing these practices in job advertisements and social media is crucial.

2) Promote engagement and give visibility to the employer brand: The implementation of practices that reduce the environmental impact in the corporate environment, such as recycling programs, waste reduction, reverse logistics for transportation and waste disposal, incentives for transportation sharing (car pool), offer infrastructure for cyclists, etc. In addition to demonstrating in practice the organization's commitment to sustainability in its day-to-day activities, it has a direct impact on employee motivation.

According to the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), around 90% of employees involved in sustainability projects feel more satisfied and have a more positive view of the company. Communication of these initiatives must be broad, using social media, job advertisements, blogs and newsletters.

3) Provide training and opportunities to acquire knowledge about sustainable practices: Promoting the development of skills and knowledge about sustainability reinforces social commitment to the environment, enabling a vision of sustainable growth and a long-term strategy throughout the organization

4) Encourage participation: Collaboration across the team is vital to maximizing sustainability efforts. Creating groups focused on green practices can enhance innovation and employee engagement. Implementing workforce sustainability suggestions promotes a feeling of appreciation and belonging. Recognizing and rewarding individual contributions strengthens this connection with the employer brand.
