With the launch, it will be possible to integrate projects and edit in Photoshop mobile and desktop
In a strategic move to expand its presence in the mobile world and attract the next generation of creative users, Adobe is launching Photoshop for Android (in public beta) on June 3. After making the iPhone version available, the Android release marks a new phase of expansion for the tool — especially relevant in markets like Brazil, where Android user penetration is significantly higher. For the first time, the professional capabilities of Photoshop are coming to the mobile ecosystem of this operating system, with an experience designed for creators who use their smartphones as their primary visual production tool.
This new feature marks an important step for the company and consolidates its strategy of making Photoshop more accessible, intuitive and integrated with the behavior of young creators who use their smartphones as their main visual production device. With an interface optimized for smaller screens and features such as artificial intelligence editing, layers, masks, background replacement and object removal, the application offers the most advanced image editing, right in the palm of your hand.
The launch is part of a global movement by Adobe to also grow among the so-called Next Gen Pros, creators aged between 13 and 24 who, for the most part, produce, learn and share visual content directly from their cell phones. Brazil, along with the United States, India and Indonesia, is among the priority markets for the expansion campaign.
“With the launch of Photoshop for Android, we’re taking another step toward making creativity accessible anywhere, on any screen. Now, creators can start a project on their phone, continue on their iPad, tweak on their desktop, and finish on the web — or do it all on a single platform, whichever they prefer. This freedom is essential for the new generation, who value fluid, intuitive, and connected experiences.” explains Vitor Gomes, senior product marketing manager at Adobe Brazil, who adds “We want young Brazilians to be protagonists at this moment, testing the beta firsthand and helping us build an even more powerful experience with their feedback. Brazil is a creative powerhouse and we are excited to see what this community will create with Photoshop in the palm of their hand.”
How will it work?
Starting June 3, the app will enter public beta with free access to all features, including premium tools, which will be marked as “free to try” for a limited time. On August 12, the second phase of the launch will begin, with the introduction of the subscription model. The premium plan will entitle you to 100 generative credits per month, 100 GB of storage, and full access to Photoshop Web.
The launch also marks a technical breakthrough: Photoshop mobile for Android will use artificial intelligence models embedded in the device itself, ensuring performance even without an internet connection. Once stabilized, the app will migrate to a hybrid model, switching between cloud and device depending on network availability.
One of the unique features of the new Photoshop for Android is its seamless integration with the Adobe ecosystem. Users can start a project on their phone and continue editing in Photoshop Web, available on their desktop. This workflow reinforces Adobe’s commitment to offering a cross-platform creative experience that adapts to the pace and needs of the new generation of creators.
The application will be available in more than 15 languages, including Brazilian Portuguese, and can be downloaded on any Android device with at least 6GB of RAM and an operating system equal to or higher than Android 11.
