The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) is significantly driving the growth of the Latin American business ecosystem, offering not only operational advantages but also generating attractive returns on investment. According to the report “Artificial Intelligence in Latin America 2023”, carried out by MIT Technology Review in partnership with NTT DATA, the adoption of this technology in companies in the region increased from 58% to 71% between 2020 and 2023. Data from Microsoft and IDC confirm this trend, in their most recent study, 55% of Spanish-speaking South American organizations claim to be already using AI and with a return of US$ 2.8 for every dollar invested.

Organizations around the world are no longer asking whether to adopt it into their business processes, but rather how to implement it, and how quickly. However, generative AI is so new and evolving so rapidly that not all organizations know how to explore and capitalize on its benefits. To address this challenge, NTT DATA, a global leader in IT consulting and services, has teamed up with Microsoft to launch GenAI Studio. This initiative, which will be present in several Latin American countries, aims to accelerate the adoption of generative AI in companies by providing organizations with the technical and human capabilities necessary to take advantage of the benefits of this technology.

GenAI Studio is a center of excellence that offers a combination of capabilities from Microsoft and NTT DATA, integrating business knowledge, technology expertise and adoption strategies. It is the solution for companies looking to improve the efficiency of internal processes to develop innovative products and services that enhance the customer experience. Its scope ranges from transforming the workplace and increasing productivity to enhancing human capabilities and redefining the value chain through technology.

GenAI Studio implements a four-phase methodology designed to develop generative AI solutions that can solve business challenges. The process begins with a detailed understanding of the client’s needs and their vision of the problem. Next, a thorough analysis of each aspect of the challenge is performed to assess the viability of the solution. The third phase involves the practical execution of the solution. The final phase focuses on optimizing the implementation, ensuring scalability across the platform and organization.

At each stage, organizations are supported by an interdisciplinary team of Microsoft professionals, with support from NTT DATA. “Our mission at GenAI Studio is to ensure that the adoption of generative AI is comprehensive and beneficial, transforming not only business processes but also organizational culture,” explains Lluis Quiles, Executive Director of Generative AI at NTT DATA for Latin America. “Our approach focuses on responsible adoption, putting human needs at the center of solutions and addressing ethical challenges, ensuring transparency, privacy and security,” added Lluis Quiles.

“We are excited to be part of this pioneering initiative that has the potential to transform the way organizations of all industries and sizes harness the power of AI to generate value and solve complex problems,” said Giovanna Cortez, Microsoft Partner Director for Spanish-speaking South America. “We believe that generative AI is one of the most disruptive and promising technologies of our time and that it offers us a unique opportunity to make a real leap in competitiveness and productivity. Together with our business partners, such as NTT DATA, we are committed to supporting its responsible adoption in the region to drive our progress and development,” added Giovanna Cortez.

This launch reaffirms NTT DATA and Microsoft’s commitment to technological innovation and to providing services that not only meet market needs but also promote a positive and sustainable impact for companies throughout Latin America. Together with Microsoft, GenAI Studio will help explore the great potential that AI offers to increase competitiveness, productivity and progress for all.
