New strategic alliance leverages Ci4CC's national network and Oracle's technology to advance artificial intelligence in oncology, next-generation clinical trials, and personalized medicine.

Oracle Health and Life Sciences and the Cancer Center Informatics Society (Ci4CC), a US nonprofit organization that brings together cancer centers, researchers, and industry innovators, have announced a collaboration to advance innovation with artificial intelligence in cancer care and research.

The partnership seeks to combine Oracle's technology with the program of initiatives and the national network of cancer centers designated by the NCI (National Cancer Institute) and community centers of Ci4CC. The two organizations will work together on developing an electronic health record system optimized for cancer treatment.

“Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, but artificial intelligence and data science have become powerful allies in this fight,” says Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager of Oracle Health and Life Sciences. “By combining Ci4CC’s expertise and unparalleled network with our cutting-edge AI-based healthcare applications, we have the opportunity to accelerate discoveries that can contribute to curing cancer.”

The strategic collaboration seeks to develop initiatives in the areas of oncology care and clinical research. This includes the integration of clinical and genomic data for personalized medicine solutions, the development of AI-driven approaches for innovation in clinical trials and drug development, the creation of robust real-world evidence frameworks, and the strengthening of precision oncology platforms.

“This alliance with Oracle represents a significant milestone for Ci4CC and our mission to advance cancer informatics,” comments Sorena Nadaf-Rahrov, MS, MMI, PhDc, president and CEO of the Cancer Center Informatics Society. “Advances in cancer research and treatment do not happen in isolation. Therefore, fostering collaborative networks like this is essential to our Initiatives Program and is at the heart of our society’s mission.”.

By integrating Oracle’s advanced, AI-enabled technology with real-world data from our national network of NCI-designated cancer centers and community centers, we seek to incubate and launch initiatives that redefine cancer research and patient care. Transforming data into knowledge—and knowledge into health—remains the driving force behind the Cancer Center Informatics Society.”

The collaboration is part of a non-binding agreement.
