Docusign (Nasdaq: DOCU), a leader in AI-powered contract management, announced that its Docusign Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) platform will soon be available on ChatGPT via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This will allow users and AI agents to create and analyze contracts directly within ChatGPT, without needing to switch between different contexts.
ChatGPT helps millions of people explore ideas, learn faster, and solve everyday problems with AI. With over 1.7 million customers and more than one billion deals managed annually, DocuSign helps people resolve contract-related issues. By integrating DocuSign with ChatGPT, DocuSign's advanced agreement management AI will be used to seamlessly create, sign, and manage contracts within the ChatGPT experience.
“AI is transforming the way people work, and the biggest impact will come when it connects directly to the tools we rely on every day,” said Allan Thygesen, CEO of DocuSign. “By bringing DocuSign’s end-to-end agreement management capabilities and agents to ChatGPT, we will make it easier for anyone to move from conversation to action – securely, intelligently, and confidently.”
“By connecting DocuSign to ChatGPT, we are helping teams move from conversation to agreement in fewer steps, reducing red tape, speeding up decisions, and giving people back their time to focus on what really matters,” said Giancarlo “GC” Lionetti, Chief Commercial Officer of OpenAI. “It’s a great example of how AI-powered companies like DocuSign are integrating essential workflows into ChatGPT so they run faster, smarter, and more automatically.”
Imagine being able to say:
- “"DocuSign, draft a residential lease agreement for a house in São Paulo, with a duration of one year, using our standard template. Monthly rent of R$ 5,000."”
- “"Create a purchase order for 10 60kg bags of coffee from our supplier and send it for signature."”
- “"Find all supplier contracts with a value above R$ 10,000 that expire within the next 90 days and draft a letter of intent to renegotiate those contracts."”
With MCP, these are just a few examples of how users will be able to access DocuSign's agreement management capabilities directly through ChatGPT.
As a key step towards this integration, DocuSign is developing a connector using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard available to developers. The connector will allow ChatGPT to securely connect to Docusign IAM — an enterprise platform for preparing, signing, and managing agreements — while maintaining the trust, security, and compliance that businesses of all sizes rely on. The Docusign connector will also bring IAM functionality to ChatGPT developers and builders within OpenAI's AgentKit.
This represents a major step forward in bringing Intelligent Agreement Management to all areas where work happens, including ChatGPT.
