On the panel AI First Companies: Reinventing Careers and Skills, held during the ABES Summit 2025, experts discussed the impacts of artificial intelligence on organizations and ways to prepare professionals for digital transformation. Moderated by Juliana Ramalho, CEO of Talento Senior, the discussion reinforced that training people to work with AI is a strategic decision—not just a technical one.

Camila Achutti, CEO of Mastertech, was emphatic in stating that the "AI First" concept is still immature in Brazil. "We need AI-ready companies, with people prepared to apply AI purposefully. Technology is a means, not an end. If we're not solving real problems, we're just creating technology for technology's sake." According to her, the focus should be on training professionals capable of asking good questions, interpreting responses critically, and recognizing biases. "Empathy and courage are also essential skills. The future only exists if it is intergenerational."

Paulo Moraes, co-founder of Instituto Talenses and director of the LANDtech division, highlighted the role of leadership in defining professional profiles and the strategic application of AI. "Many companies buy into the hype and create AI areas without knowing what they need. Leadership must understand the available technologies and the expected results, and only then define the appropriate profiles." He warned of a misalignment between strategy and organizational culture, which can frustrate talent and compromise innovation.

Silvia Bassi, publisher of The Shift, offered a critical perspective on the excessive expectations surrounding AI. "We're at a stage where the demand for results outweighs the hype. AI is here, but we're still telling an incomplete story. Now is the time to show concrete results." She also emphasized that AI requires highly skilled human talent, especially in areas such as ethics, critical thinking, and governance.

Camila Achutti added that, in the past, companies sought robust and resilient platforms. Today, the question has changed: "What benefit will you deliver?" With autonomous agents and AI, it's possible to deliver comprehensive services. "Leadership needs to make this transition and create environments of trust. It's not enough to know trends; you need to lead with purpose."

The panel concluded that training will be hybrid, continuous, and focused on human skills. They issued a warning: "As software company leaders, choose your metrics wisely to avoid making mistakes." The AI-First era requires more than technology—it requires vision, responsibility, and people prepared to transform.
