ABES (Brazilian Association of Software Companies) is a strategic partner of Cidade Connected Smart Cities (Cidade CSC), the largest smart cities event in Latin America, taking place from September 23rd to 25th, 2025, in São Paulo. With representatives from its board of directors, leaders of its Working Groups and Committees, and researchers from its Think Tank, the association will present essential reflections on the future of connected, digital, and sustainable cities. ABES's leadership will be marked by participation in debates on various topics, including innovation labs, which can accelerate agile, citizen-centered solutions. Digital literacy policies aimed at public servants and the general public will also be on the agenda, expanding access and technological inclusion.

 Cybersecurity and data protection in the public sector

Another central theme will be cybersecurity in smart cities. ABES representatives will discuss the regulatory framework for the area, strategies for protecting critical data and services, and the role of artificial intelligence in citizens' experience with government. The association will also address the importance of privacy and digital security in increasingly connected urban environments.

Promoting the GovTech ecosystem and partnerships with startups

ABES will reinforce the need to strengthen the GovTech ecosystem, fostering partnerships between startups and local governments. Discussions will include innovative public procurement, smart mobility, and the role of governments in the race to zero carbon. The presence of the ABES board will ensure a strategic vision on how public policies can drive digital transformation with responsibility and social impact.

 Female protagonism and technology with purpose

Another highlight will be the leading role of women in the GovTech ecosystem. ABES will host discussions on female leadership in technology and how diversity can drive more inclusive and effective solutions. Purposeful technology—aimed at solving real societal problems—will be a common thread in several panels.

Think Tank ABES: real-time urban intelligence

The ABES Think Tank will bring research and insights on real-time smart cities, the use of generative AI in public management, digital public safety with smart cameras and facial recognition, and the challenges of data protection in urban environments. Confirmed researchers include: Anderson Rohe, Carina de Castro Quirino, Darci de Borba, Regiane Relva Romano, Leonardo Melo Lins, Marcelo Batista Nery, Danielle Mendes Thame Denny and Luiz Felipe Vieira de Siqueira.

The winners of the Connected Smart Cities Pitch Challenge 2025, divided into three categories, will make their presentations on 09/24:
