With the transition, the company now operates with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) as its primary platform for container orchestration, and Karpenter for intelligent, on-demand automation of node provisioning, ensuring greater efficiency.
Vertem has over 40 million consumers and 2.5 million small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in its base, operating 150 active programs. To meet this growing demand, TIVIT opted for the Amazon Elastic Kubernetes (EKS) solution, combined with Karpenter, a node provisioning automation tool that ensures on-demand resource allocation. The combined use of these technologies allowed Vertem to handle access spikes, such as those experienced by its Familhão product, a huge hit with Brazilian customers, with cost savings of 30%.
"We faced some major challenges during the migration. Rewriting application code and ensuring the architecture was resilient to failures, capable of self-healing, and without significant disruptions were some of them," says Carlos Maia, Director of Cloud Solutions at TIVIT. For the executive, efficiently handling traffic spikes during Vertem's promotional campaigns was essential to the project's success.
Karpenter's automatic scalability allowed Vertem to increase its data processing capacity and system access tenfold. AWS's robustness provided users with peace of mind and an error-free experience, a key factor for Vertem, which values quality customer service. Furthermore, the system guarantees low latency at all times, ensuring fast response times.
