Gartner predicts that worldwide end-user spending on information security will total US$1,400,000 billion in 2025.

Worldwide end-user spending on information security are projected to reach US$1.5 billion in 2025, compared to US$1.9 billion in 2024, according to Gartner, Inc.. Spending is estimated to increase by 12.5% in 2026, totaling US$ 240 billion.

 “Existing security spending will continue as normal, but some companies are being more cautious with new investments in this highly uncertain and challenging climate,” he says. Ruggero Contu, Senior Director Analyst at Gartner. "However, higher defense budgets, growing threats, increasing regulatory pressure, and increased cybersecurity awareness, especially among small and medium-sized businesses, will keep cybersecurity spending strong in the medium to long term."

Security software is the fastest growing segment as more companies continue to migrate from systems on-premises for cloud-based applications, which brings new security risks. Security posture management cloud security and Cloud access security brokers are the main drivers of this segment.

During this forecast period, growing threats and the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), both by AI insiders and attackers, will continue to be key drivers of growth.
