Cybersecurity firm to support AI Action Summit to be held in France in February

THE Trend Micro, a global leader in cybersecurity, announced a partnership with the Paris Peace Forum to help guide global leaders as they implement and build Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks. The initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to leading the security of AI and other emerging technologies in an increasingly complex global landscape.

Trend Micro’s project is one of the top 50, selected from 770 entries from 111 countries. As an active participant in global security initiatives, Trend Micro will join the multi-stakeholder ecosystem of the Forum, which will be held on February 10-11, 2025, and will feature discussions on governance and digital security around AI. The goal is to foster an international platform for sharing inclusive solutions.

“At a time when geopolitical challenges and digital threats converge, the Paris Peace Forum seeks to establish a global framework for responsible governance of AI. The collaboration of leading companies like Trend Micro brings practical and strategic insights, bringing together policy and technical solutions to address the risks,” said Pablo Rice, Head of the Cyber and Emerging Technologies Governance Program at the Paris Peace Forum. “Our goal is to transform AI into a force for good, fostering trust in a safer digital future for all.”

The Forum’s relevance lies in bringing together governments, NGOs, industry leaders and academic experts to address the security implications of emerging technologies. Initiatives such as the Paris Call for Trust and Security in Cyberspace and the Pall Mall Process, which aim to combat cyber mercenaries and promote stability and security in cyberspace, are essential to building a resilient digital ecosystem and are fully supported by Trend Micro.

“We are pioneers in ensuring the safe use of AI and its use in cybersecurity solutions. We are honored to collaborate with global leaders to shape responsible AI governance that aligns with the priorities of our enterprise and government customers,” said Kevin Simzer, COO of Trend Micro.

For Trend Micro, the Paris Forum is a crucial opportunity to transform aspirations into concrete policies. “The meeting will bring together subject matter experts who will address the challenges and gaps in AI security, and discuss robust regulatory alternatives. The goal is one: to ensure that new technologies benefit everyone,” highlighted Cesar Candido, general director of Trend Micro Brazil.
