At a meeting held in Brasília, on May 20, ABES and Vice-President Geraldo Alckmin talked about strategies aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the information technology (IT) sector in Brazil. The meeting was attended by Rodolfo Fücher, Manoel Antonio dos Santos and Marcelo Almeida, representatives of the association, as well as consultants Daniel Annenberg and Isabela Bonfim.

ABES presented to the vice-president its concerns about the challenges posed by the regulation of artificial intelligence and the urgent need for payroll relief to boost productivity and competitiveness on the national scene. These issues are seen as crucial to improving the country's business environment, making it more welcoming to the development of innovations and emerging technologies.

Vice President Alckmin recognized the importance of these issues and assured his commitment to redirecting them to the competent members of the government. He highlighted the importance of improving existing public policies and programs, ensuring that the needs of the IT sector are met and that Brazil continues to advance to be one of the leaders in technological innovation.

This meeting is part of ABES' mission to always maintain an open and collaborative dialogue with the government to shape a promising future for the technological industry in the country and the development of society as a whole, aiming to build a More Digital and Less Unequal.
