Largest technology specialist in Latin America, Brazilian company incorporates UserWay Digital Accessibility assistive technology for personalized and more inclusive service via web and mobile devices

The Software Group, the largest technology specialist in Latin America, announces an important update to its website, which now has a UserWay Accessibility Widget for more inclusive and personalized service for the elderly, people with visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities, low vision, color blindness, dyslexia, autism spectrum disorders and people in the initial literacy phase or with some type of access or mobility limitation, as in the case of accident victims, among other profiles.

The incorporation of the UserWay Accessibility Widget to the website is the result of a partnership between the two technology players and reinforces the Software Group's pioneering spirit and leadership in promoting digital inclusion as a good ESG practice.

The UserWay Widget icon is positioned at the top right of the site software.com.br and offers a complete menu with functions and resources that facilitate the browsing experience and perception and understanding of all web content, both on desktop and mobile devices.

The widget is powered by Artificial Intelligence, is lightweight, secure and scalable and complies with the minimum legal and regulatory standards for online accessibility, set out in the WCAG guide (acronym in English for 'Web Content Accessibility Guidelines'), created by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

According to Rodrigo Villar, CEO of Grupo Software, the country also has the Brazilian Law for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities (LBI). It was created in 2015 and determines that all websites maintained by companies must offer digital accessibility resources for people with any type of disability. Adherence, however, is low.

The executive explains that, although most companies and private institutions are more aware and even willing to increase their investments in internal and external measures of compliance with ESG guidelines (acronym in English for Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance Sustainability), many still 'forget' or neglect the digital inclusion of people with disabilities on their web channels and, sometimes, the topic is not even part of their digital transformation agendas.

“This has to change, and quickly”, warns the CEO. “In addition to being outside the law and totally disconnected from what is most recent and innovative in terms of  sustainable democratization of web spaces, these companies are losing good daily business opportunities. Not offering a dynamic, safe, accessible and interactive experience to elderly Internet users or those with some type of disability who visit the company's website to learn more about the brand and its products is the same as not providing a good customer journey.”

Villar also points out that failure to adopt a more inclusive and responsible business model and remaining in a situation of non-compliance with digital inclusion rules can lead companies to face a serious ethics crisis with severe, or even irreversible, compromise. , reputation.

“Brazil has more than 45 million inhabitants with some type of disability and digital accessibility is a powerful tool for building inclusive online spaces that will give voice, promote greater freedom of expression and pave the way for expanding presence and purchasing power and decision of this important segment of the population on the internet”, says the CEO of Grupo Software. “We are proud to announce the deployment of the UserWay Digital Availability Widget to our website. It is a time of great innovation and assertiveness of values for our company.”
