After pausing the program for three years due to the pandemic, ADP, a leading global company in human capital management solutions, resumed the Social Rally in 2023, an action that aims to engage employees in volunteering.
According to Claudia Perazio, human resources manager at ADP in Brazil, the 2023 movement was driven by a committee made up of interns from different areas of the company, who were responsible for choosing NGOs related to people in situations of social vulnerability; animals in situations of abandonment, mistreatment and hunger; and women affected by breast cancer.
“Each volunteer dedicated 360 hours to the action. Thus, clothes, books, pet food, sanitary pads, bras and non-perishable food were collected. Subsequently, donations were made to the selected institutions”, explains Claudia.
Among the institutions selected by ADP, the following stand out: love breasts, a project that seeks to improve the self-esteem of mastectomized women and received more than 45 thousand pads and around 400 bras; Saint Matthew on the Move, a culture and education point in São Mateus, which received around 3,000 non-perishable foods; It is Sefras, a humanitarian organization that works to combat hunger, violation of rights and for the economic and social insertion of extremely vulnerable populations, such as homeless people, immigrants and refugees, poor children and adolescents, alone elderly people and people affected by leprosy, which received more than 13 thousand pieces of clothing.
“At ADP we work with social responsibility and seek to engage employees with internal actions and the return of the Social Rally in 2023 was extremely important for members to understand the importance of the volunteering experience, both from the point of view of humanitarian aid and personal development . So much so that the interns involved in the action had complete freedom to carry out the project and, consequently, were essential for the participation of ADP employees in collecting the items and, subsequently, donating them”, he adds.
