– With more than 30 million transactions per month and a growth of 30% per year, the Riskpack platform is the decision engine that brings automation to data analysis that generates security in the business decisions of Neurotech customers
– With the optimization conducted by SoftwareOne, the platform consumption cost reduced by 30%, for the modernized modules

Neurotech, a B3 company specialized in creating advanced Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Big Data solutions, has just completed the first phase of modernizing its main platform, Riskpack, risk analysis solution for companies. The project was entirely led by SoftwareOne, a leader in software and cloud technology solutions and services, which aimed to prepare the legacy architecture for the needs related to the company's growth and reduce infrastructure costs.
According to SoftwareOne's Team Lead Business Development Executive, Cleyton Leal, as it was the first product developed by Neurotech, Riskpack needed adaptations to become even more flexible and embrace innovations with greater agility. “Riskpack had a legacy architecture and, consequently, some more expensive characteristics, such as consumption, structure, technology, machine and administration, and this was our main challenge to be solved”, he explains.
Furthermore, according to Cleyton, the platform, which currently carries out more than 30 million transactions per month and grows by 30% per year, was a monolithic application, with specific parameterization and infrastructure for each client. “Due to these characteristics, being hosted on virtual machines by customers and with manual processes, its consumption cost was exceeding 17%. In other words, platform expenses alone were consuming 17% of the total costs allocated to the entire Riskpack”, he states.
On the other hand, Marcelo Bronzatti, Infrastructure Manager at Neurotech, comments that the company was already undergoing a digital transformation movement, in which it had left an On Premises data center environment and migrated its applications to the cloud AWS, and for this reason, it also aimed to modernize its main solution. “The modernization work with SoftwareOne was precisely to make our platform more agile and more scalable, in order to contribute to the company's current digital movement.”
The modernization process and its benefits
With this scenario in mind, SoftwareOne created a modernization project for Riskpack, divided into two stages and with as little impact as possible, both for the company and its customers. “We designed a step-by-step guide on how we would help Neurotech, divided into two phases, the assessment, and implementation. We showed that it would be possible to carry out modernization without leaving AWS, a cloud which they already counted on and, consequently, experience less pain, as the impact would be less for the team of specialists in terms of training, as well as for the more than 100 customers who were already using the solution”, highlights Cleyton.
According to the executive, in addition to reducing the costs of platform expenses, other points that would require optimizations were identified, such as operation, monitoring and performance. Bronzatti explains that to start the project, several modules needed to be decoupled into microservices and go through a DevSecOps strategy, in addition to modernizing the database to a managed database, using AWS Aurora.
“Everything we developed went through automatic testing and has already been sent to production, allowing Neurotech, in this first wave alone, which lasted 9 months, to reduce 20% of the cost for the modernized Riskpack modules, in addition to having more DevOps , monitoring and, consequently, a reduction in application errors”, says Bronzatti.
Bronzatti indicates that the main benefits obtained with the modernization of Riskpack, in addition to cost reduction, which was one of the main objectives to be achieved, were reliability and operational efficiency. “With modernization, our platform has access to the latest technologies and updates on the market, ensuring greater robustness, agility in uploading new application versions, more security and fewer errors, in addition to an increase in governance and work carried out with greater synergy by the team of experts”, he comments.
Cleyton Leal also highlights other advantages, such as: Return on Investment (ROI) or payback within the same year, improved performance and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), in addition to approximately 40% less time to develop and deploy the platform.
Another point highlighted by Bronzatti, from Neurotech, which occurred at the beginning of the project, but was essential both for the development of the entire modernization and for the final results, was the assessment. "O assessment was essential to the success of the project, as without this vision it is practically impossible to determine the best path to follow. Therefore, I believe it was the main step, not only from the point of view of how he got the result, but how it is arranged within the current architecture”, he states.
Strategic partnership with SoftwareOne and future projects
According to Cleyton Leal, SoftwareOne values helping its customers enhance and modernize their applications, aiming to digital evolution of your business and ensuring that they optimize various aspects of managing your infrastructure, such as control, effectiveness, quality and security.
And with this objective, Neurotech counted on the assistance of SoftwareOne's team of experts in this project modernization from Riskpack. Bronzatti also highlights that the credibility and flexibility guaranteed by SoftwareOne were two points that brought great confidence in the conduct of the proposal. “Changing our main application, which practically all of our customers use, is something very important and cannot go wrong. Therefore, at that moment, very strategic and flexible four-hand planning was needed, immense security and consolidated market credibility. SoftwareOne has been providing us with all of this, living up to everything previously promised to us”, he recalls.
There are already other projects underway, as Bronzatti reinforces. “We have new projects designed that are being discussed at management level. So, I believe that, by exchanging possibilities, we will soon have new future developments regarding this partnership”, concludes the executive.
