We are living in a unique moment in the history of Humanity: experiencing global change caused by a technology that has already been compared to the atomic bomb, or the creation of the printing press. Choosing the wrong technological strategy is as harmful as failing to carry out digital transformation. Understanding new technologies and understanding contexts that become more complex every day is the most important skill for leaders in the 21st century. How to practice pragmatic futurism? What are the most important emerging technologies? How to keep the company focused on the consumer of the future? 12:05 pm – 1:05 pm Round Table 2 | Regulation, public policies and innovation – the challenge of getting things right

Technology accelerates quickly. Regulation, not so much. Adjusting the step between the two is the urgency of the present to ensure a sustainable digital future. The challenge is global and needs to involve society, governments and private companies. What is Brazil doing? And how are other countries facing the same challenge? Is it possible to think about global regulation for technology? With Paulo Pereira (Executive Secretary of the Council for Sustainable Economic and Social Development of the Ministry of Institutional Relations), Priscila Reis (Lawyer specialized in technology, co-founder of Layer Two consultancy, master in Intelligence Technologies with an emphasis on artificial intelligence); Eliana Emediato de Azambuja, General Coordinator of Digital Transformation at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovations; Diogo Costa, Executive Director of the Millennium Institute; and moderation by Andriei Gutierrez (Vice President and Leader of the ABES Regulatory Committee).

The use of digital technologies – AI, IoT and Analytics – and intelligent management of the profusion of data generated in cities can contribute to digital inclusion and improving conditions and quality of life in cities of all sizes. A study by Goldman Sachs points out that world GDP could increase by 7% in ten years due to Generative AI. Technology can affect the work routine of 300 million people, improving productivity or making them obsolete. The urgency to empower people of all generations for the digital economy only increases. What can we do to accelerate initiatives? What are other countries doing about it? With Mariane Guerra (VP of human resources for Latin America at ADP Systems), Daniela Faria (Executive manager at TOTVS University), Luiz Eduardo Drouet (Founder at Prosper Tech Talents, Managing partner at Share People Hub / President ABRH-SP); Andrea Leal – AWS Cloud Education Program Manager for Latin America; and moderation by Ariela Zanetta Simoni (Leader of the ABES Future of Work Committee).

5pm – 5:45pm Round Table 5 | Business, People and Planet – The challenges of the low carbon economy

When writer and thinker John Elkington launched the concepts of the Triple Bottom Line (Profit, People and Planet) in 1998, he was beginning to pave a road that, in 2004, was named ESG by the UN. In 2023, the ESG moment joins the urgency of the climate crisis. Alongside concepts such as sustainability, governance, inclusion and diversity comes the challenge of creating a low-carbon economy. We are talking about electrification of the economy, clean energy sources, new infrastructure and a new source of green jobs. Are we doing our homework right? With Thiago Falda, Executive President of the Brazilian Bioinnovation Association (ABBI); Rogelio Golfarb, Vice President of Ford South America; Valeria Café – Executive Director at IBGC (Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance); and moderation by Rodolfo Fücher (President of the ABES Council).
