Quality of municipal services increases with the use of a modern observability platform,
which has already been adopted in more than 40 public applications

THE Dynatrace, leader in unified observability and security, announces that PRODAM – Information and Communication Technology Company of the Municipality of São Paulo, is managing to improve the quality of municipal services and the work of the city's public administration with the use of its observability platform . The transformation can be seen in critical systems and in the optimization of processes in different government areas. With the adoption of the platform, incident resolution time decreased by approximately 80%. What previously could take a week to resolve can now be resolved in less than 24 hours.

“PRODAM is one of the best examples of modernity and the use of technologies in Brazil”, says Fernando Mellone, Sales Director for the Public Sector at Dynatrace in Brazil. According to the executive, one of the main benefits brought by the Dynatrace platform to PRODAM is the ease of finding the root cause of occurrences through Artificial Intelligence. “With AI, PRODAM is able to observe the impacts of incidents on applications, with in-depth detail of what caused them and how this is affecting the performance of services. This way, it is possible to carry out more proactive analyzes to resolve problems more quickly.”

Before adopting the Dynatrace platform, PRODAM was looking for a solution that would provide full visibility of the most varied systems provided to São Paulo City Hall. In addition to knowing about the existence of an incident, PRODAM needed to understand where exactly it happened and for what reason. “We needed a solution capable of accurately showing whether the problem was in a code, an application or a database, for example, in addition to the root cause. With the Dynatrace platform, it is possible to correlate information from applications as a whole, allowing us to have this complete view of what happens in each one of them”, says Luiz Basílio Ribeiro, Coordinator of the Monitoring and Observability Center at PRODAM.

One of the main systems that underwent a significant transformation through Dynatrace technology was Hospital Management (SGH), in the healthcare area. Through it, it is possible to manage patients, hospitalizations, outpatient clinics, emergency rooms, surgical centers, medical prescriptions and nursing, for example. With the Dynatrace platform, management can identify failures and what caused them, in addition to carrying out predictive analyzes of possible occurrences, supporting quick decision-making to avoid interruptions.

Still in the health sector, SIGA Saúde and Agenda Fácil also use the Dynatrace platform. SIGA Saúde seeks to support the management of resources and services provided by the Municipal Health Department, integrating the assistance, promotion and regulation processes in the area in municipal network establishments, acting as a support platform for the SUS. In total, more than 25 million appointments are made every year, in more than a thousand integrated health units, which shows the importance of the availability of this service for citizens.

Another application that uses Dynatrace observability is Geosampa, an essential tool for formulating public policies in São Paulo, highly recognized for its contributions to services related to natural resources, legislation, accessibility and the environment. This platform offers a wide range of geospatial data to assist in strategic decisions for urban development. With more than 2 million accesses per year and 450 layers of information, Geosampa relies on Dynatrace's observability to guarantee the platform's availability, efficiency and reliability. Through technology, it is possible, for example, to understand which layers of information are most used by users in real time. This allows the municipal administration to make informed decisions based on solid data and contributes to the city's progress.

The Electronic Information System (SEI!) is also benefiting from the adoption of the Dynatrace platform. The program aims to eliminate the use of paper in government processes, generating a positive impact on the green economy by avoiding the cutting of thousands of trees. In addition to saving paper and environmental gains, the program also guarantees more transparency in internal processes, reduces bureaucracy time and saves public resources.

In total, PRODAM uses the Dynatrace platform in 41 systems, also including areas such as Education, in Escola Online (EOL), and Finance, with emphasis on applications related to IPTU, Invoice, Active Debt and the PPI (Installment Program Encouraged). Furthermore, at the corporate level, the platform supports the management of SIGPEC (Integrated People and Skills Management System) and the Official Gazette, demonstrating its broad versatility for in-depth monitoring of various sectors. Another notable example is the use of technology in the Empreenda Fácil program, which reduced the time it takes to open a business from six days to 24 hours.

The Dynatrace platform has become the foundation for the effective functionality of these vital initiatives that serve millions of people annually. In addition to optimizing operations, the platform also provides protection by detecting vulnerabilities in real time to provide greater security to services and availability to those provided to the population.

“Dynatrace as an Observability platform proved to be essential for solving problems and improving our application environment, quickly and centrally presenting the information necessary for decision making”, says Felipe Faraj Rocha, APM Project Manager at PRODAM.

The successful collaboration between PRODAM and Dynatrace is a testament to the ongoing commitment to excellence in governance and technological innovation. The transformations carried out in critical systems demonstrate the positive impacts on public administration and citizens' quality of life.
