Alura Para Empresas specialist says that technology helps companies to be more competitive with productivity gains and task automation

A Microsoft survey with Edelman reveals that 98% of micro, small and medium-sized companies (MSMEs) are undergoing a digital transformation and identifying positive effects in this process. It is like boom of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in recent years, there is no doubt that this technology is also part of the planning of a good portion of companies; After all, another survey, this time produced by Deloitte, indicates that for every 10 Brazilian companies, 7 will invest in the tool this year.

For Adriano Almeida, co-founder and COO of alura and business unit leader Alura for Business, this movement is due to the affordable cost and agility that the resource provides in the daily lives of smaller organizations. “SMEs are sensitive to gaining productivity in operations, but with AI, especially generative AIs like ChatGPT, automation of tasks and optimization of activities are generated that previously would only be possible by mobilizing entire sectors. This creates a new scenario for them to reach the market more competitively and boost their business”, he says.

However, the executive emphasizes that the potential of this technology is still being explored, so it is important that entrepreneurs are open to experimentation. “The adoption of AI solutions became even more popular a few months ago, so it is difficult to say where it will go and the size of its impact in the future. On the other hand, if leaders face the challenges of this context, engaging employees to adopt the tool and teaching teams how to do this, there is no doubt that they will have the key to success in their hands”, he states.

Generative AI tools available for SMEs

The integration of Generative AI technologies with other no-code process automation tools, such as Zapier, is opening up a myriad of new productivity for SMEs. Some examples that have already been incorporated by many companies are:

ChatGPT: The success of Open AI launched at the end of 2022 has contributed to the performance of teams in various areas, driving ideas, scripts, planning and actions for the most diverse fronts of the operation. For this reason, a survey carried out by Alura itself with 63 thousand participants of the “Artificial Intelligence Immersion”, which had more than 124 thousand subscribers, highlights that 70% of these people have already had some contact with the tool.

Visual tools: Photoshop and the group of tools that incorporate image creation and editing capabilities also allow you to perform tasks with a third of the time and effort that were previously required. Therefore, and following the same principle as ChatGPT, the Alura survey reveals that 18% of the respondents have already used one of them, Midjourney, in some way in their careers.

Traditional tools: other AI resources are developing traditional tools, such as Excel, and as we have already seen, more than 80 thousand people sought courses on the tool at Alura Para Empresas in the last year alone. AI, in this case, can help from the basic use of software to data analysis, which brings an absurd productivity gain for business teams.

Github Copilot: When it comes to the technology area itself, this tool generates a huge advantage for systems programming teams. This helps IT specialists focus on more strategic roles, especially when creating complex codes.
